Blu-ray! If you want the best looking picture you can get of Pirates 2 then the simple choice is Blu-ray.

It depends, do you have a Blu-ray player and a high definition television?

In that case Sachetman23 would be right, the best release for you if you don't mind the money is the Blu-ray release.

Just to help me understand the point of this thread, can you please name ONE instance where a DVD is better than its Blu-ray counterpart?
Even when you're comparing a special edition DVD to a bare-bones BD, the latter still comes out on top.

If someone is a big fan of extras then in your scenario I would say the standard DVD is better for them.

The Blu-Ray of Pirates 2 includes the same special features found on the 4 disc dvd set. I bought the dvd at first due to the delay in the Blu-ray release and when I finally got the Blu-ray, the difference in picture quality was like night and day. The night scenes have some grain, which is common on High Def, but other than the grain at night the picture that the Blu-Ray disc provides is phenomenal. I would say go for the Blu-Ray!

I've never seen porn in Blu-ray. For instance, I don't like close-up shots (although I'm getting used to them), so I'm kinda scared to see one in HD.
