I find it laughable how Digital Playground, Adam and Eve, and the good folk at AVN seem to be hyping up Pirates as appealing to "all demographics". Give me a break. If it was appealing to all demographics, then why didn't it contain male-male sex? The simple fact is that the makers of Pirates stuck to a traditional, conservative formula of including male-female and female-female action, but excluding male-male action. There is nothing innovative about the sex action nor is it inclusive.

Maybe Joone, the director of Pirates, should go and read some history about real pirates. Many of these guys engaged in male-male sex when at sea and with no wenches around. Why wasn't it in your "broadly appealing" movie, Joone?

It's called Pirates. Not Butt Pirates.

threesomebody,

What's wrong with a butt-pirate? Read your history books, bud.

Considering the review came from AVN and not Gay AVN it isn't a joke.

I don't remember that stuff in my history books. All they ever talked about was buried treasure and rum.

Arthur, I suggest you read some Patrick O'Brian, it might cure you of your romantic notions about sea life in the 'good old days.' Damned few of 'those guys' engaged in homosexual activity at sea for the simple reason that there was no place to do so in privacy, and most captains were not at all tolerant of that kind of activity.

Its a straight movie, gay movie are a classe apart, i understand that being gay is not a choice, and i have nothings against that, but i would never watch a movie with a gay scene in it(male-male i mean) , even with the honest babes. By the way even G-G dosen`t apeal to me, i zap them, but at least if i come across one, i don`t have to close my eyes and zap blind.

Male-Male : I found it disgusting being an heterosexual
Girl-Girl : Not apeal me but not freak me out of course.

but i still think Pirates have too much hypes, the movie is very dark, very ordinary on a sex point, it get all that attention for the only reason its one of a few films that have a story and some background instead of 1 guy 1 girl fucking over a bed...

Hardware : Whos the girl on your avatar? im curious

Arthur, if it's you, be sure to check out "Thundercrack!". Trust me, this is the movie for you. And be sure to check out this thread as well.

Yeah, this has nothing to do with "Pirates", but since I'm pretty sure it's you, I can finally tell you about that movie.

I think Inso has room to bitch about this one.

Any title with "Pirates" in it, at this day and age, can just as well be allocated to male-male as far as i'm concerned.
Its long been a buzz word for "don't pick up this box", just as any flick that even resembles a swashbuckler, never gets a second glance.

at least the guy is entertaining I do have to agree with the blatant move by the two companies to try and make it "appeal" to all audiences though. from what I've read and heard it sounds more like a couples movie than anything and that to me has No, Thank You written all over it.

As a black male I can tell you that this movie appealed to the crowd they intended it for. Get used to being left out of the "Demographic".

That fact that they released "Black Maled" only further goes to show their seperate but equal philosophy. The true irony comes in the fact that some of contract top talent is jumping ship.

I guess when faced with IR, some people would rather walk the plank.

I think it's stupid to say that there can be a porn to appeal to all audiences. I stay away from gay, bi, shemale, tranny, scat, bestiality, kiddi porn, and gory shit regardless of what the cast or the hype is like. So you can have the hottest girls licking each others' gaping asshole in a film, but if in the same film they had a guy with gaping asshole in it, I stay the fuck away from that shit by all means. You can't mix gay audience with hetero audience, it just does not work that way.

I haven't seen "Pirates", but somehow I doubt that it's supposed to be an exact portrayal of actual pirates. I'm sure it's not any less realistic than "Pirates Of The Caribbean". After all, I doubt that any pirate had dreads and wore mascara. That look on Johnny Depp was to bring in the girls. But my point is that people should accept "Pirates" for what it is, which is a movie.

I saw it, and no its not realistic. Actually Pirates is exactly what the guy said above, A COUPLES MOVIE. You want a great comparision? DREAM QUEST. Remember that movie? It had a BIG cast , some major star of that time(Jenna Jameson, Asia Carrera, Amber Michaels, Stephanie Swift and others) and it had a fancy story that was apealing to womens. There where nothing ``hard in that movie`` but it had a big succes because of the great cast and the feature.

Pirates is the Dream Quest of 2005, simply is that

Pirates?

Never seen the release hit the shelves.

Then again, I can't recall Dreamcast either.

Most likely due to it probably being a Wicked release.

I pretty much lost all recognition of Wicked, or Vivid flicks since...I believe shortly after discovering early Max Hardcore.
They never really changed their box designs, so I figured they probably never changed much inside either.
