Having become frustrated with my ISP's email service and being the recipient of some 2,000 spam messages per day (of which only about 2/3rds are filtered out by earthlink's spam filters, I'm changing email addresses.

I've located three places where my new address needs to be changed here on ADT:

  • My profile
  • Alerts
  • KickBack program
What have I missed? Are there others?

To those of you with whom I converse via email on an irregular basis, I'll probably be sending out an announcement within a week or so. At the moment, my old address is forwarded to my new one (spam & all); so I won't miss anything.

Drew:

Further to the email problem, is there any way our email addresses can be "hidden" (meaning that they do not display when we click on someones profile) and yet we can still get email from someone when they click on the send mail icon in the forums?

I thought I had changed that many months ago. I guess those changes didnt' make it over when we switched servers in January. I'll fix it when I get home on Wed.

There really need to be two choices, one that allows emails sent to a hidden address and one that disallows emails altogether.

The address is hidden when an email is sent for users that have enabled it in their profile. I also removed the display of the email address in a user's profile.

Many thanks, Drew -- I've no objection of ADTers knowing my email address, but every little bit helps in fighting spam.
