I recently came across some DVD that were labelled PlatinumXEuro as opposed to just Platinum X. Is there any "Euro" content or is that just thier Europe marketing arm? TIA

The Euro versions often have fewer extras, so I avoid them for this reason. (Don't know if this is always true of PlatinumX and RLD though - I may just be thinking of the Euro companies like Shiva - hate their issues with no extras). I like all the extras - especially from guys like Brandon who really push the boat out on these. It really adds to a disc when you get to see the girls in interviews and other BTS stuff. Girls are always sexier when you can see a bit more of their real side.
Not necessarily. Some US companies make "Euro versions" which contain footage that could be problematic in the US (like fisting, golden showers, etc...). If these are things that someone wants to see, then buying the Euro versions of these discs makes sense.
I've seen my fair share of urination on video, most which were rentals from brick and mortar places, even mainstream rental places with porn in the back room. I can't say I've seen more than the squatting and peeing before or after the sex scene routine, but then again I don't go looking for piss drinking, etc.
Cube: I am sure you can understand that many companies have another party distribute their product in europe. Platinum X is no exception.
There is no attempt to trick anyone or hide anything.
Also, if "euro" version are what you are looking for (pissing, fisting, etc.), we are not the company for you. It's that simple. I don't think we have ever claimed to put out that kind of product.
I wouldn´t have a problem with that as long as it would be the same product as within the us. I don´t see any reason why to realease a [supposedly) different version of a RLD/PXP film that you find side by side with the us version in the same videostore sometimes. The only difference is the euroversions are sometimes so cheap it makes you wonder what you guys earn from this. I may have bought one or two "euro" versions of RLD titles but i guess i didn´t realize it until later :(
no that´s not the case ... although i don´t get mentaly disturbed like (i guess) most of the us da´s when i see some fisting :)
Now I am confused. If you are telling me that euro versions of the movies are substantially different either in content or quality from the US version, I have no explanation. This would have to be brought to the attention of Platinum X Europe. Masters are sent and they do all the post-production, replicating, etc.
I know the artwork is altered slightly to reflect their website information, etc.
I did not realize that content was altered. Let me send an e-mail to them to see if there is some sort of explanation.
Brandon, as far as I know the Platinum X and Platinum X Europe versions have identical content, I think he is confusing them with the Shiva versions of other labels. Shiva/Night Trips buy rights, but their disks usually only contain the movie and not any extra's.
when i wrote [Cube quote] [supposedly) different version of a RLD/PXP film that you find side by side with the us version in the same videostore sometimes [Cube quote]
I was refering to what Jethro wrote. i do not know if "euro" versions are any different as their us counterparts. I only see a difference in price if i happen to find 2 versions (even though they maybe the same in content) of the same movie in a store.
Don´t wanna make it to complicated ... i never had any problems with the discs i have so far. And your AGSOI 1 is always sold out when i want to buy it
Regardless, I sent an e-mail and a link to this thread to Platinum X Europe to find out. The last time I met with them was 2 months ago in Paris. I saw the packaged product. It has a slightly different cover to reflect their url, etc. but it seemed to be the same on the outside.
The movies were being played at Venus Paris on TVs and they looked exactly the same.
