I've only had one disc (an Xbox Magazine demo disc) that I couldn't get to work at all.
I've only used the DVD function during a couple of weeks when my main player was getting serviced, but never had a problem.

Won't even load, all I get is an error message: "Your XBox doesn't recognize this disc." I took it back, and of course, it works on the bottom-feeder player they have in the store. I've heard that the early Xboxes had finicky DVD drives, which was solved when MS switched suppliers. This is not the first disc to have this problem, though the others were Asian imports. [Link] |
