Steph and Drew: I was just served a banner ad for something called "Black Tranny Whackers 26" Mere words cannot adequately express how much I do not want to be presented with this ad again, or ads for earlier or subsequent volumes in the series, or ads featuring "Tranny Whackers" of other races, creeds, or national origin. Thank you.
^^ a couple years ago there was an ad for a feature called Beauty & the Beast, or some such, featuring a "woman" who looked like the zoophile result of Rosie O'Donnell and an english bulldog. I've seen ads for things that I didn't like, but this one made me leap from the page every time I saw it, to the point where I quit coming here so often. It finally dropped off the rotation and, Thank Christ, it didn't start an epidemic of copycats. I feel your pain.

Actually I think Black Tranny Whackers was in the Reviewers Recommend (not an ad but an automated formula displaying reviews based on reviewer rating.) Those do disappear after a certain amount of time. However, we seem to have a growing audience of tranny porn fans. I'm all for new traffic (of course) and welcome all genres.
It reminds me of the thread in WN&N against the incest-themed deluge we seem to be going through. Every time I see that, I think of all the threads here about gaping, rough, A2M, interracial this and that, and all the other legal genres that are discussed here; faux-incest porn seems pretty damn tame.
I don't object any more to that than any other porn I don't like. So count me in the "don't care" or "not offended" category. There is indeed a huge market for TS porn so you would probably make mistake by not having ads for it. I won't ever click anything with "A2M", "rough", "gape", "punishment", or "incest" either but I realize its part of the porn scene.

^ I've just seen that one too. I don't want to make too big a deal of this, but if it's technically possible to prevent gay titles from being displayed in the "Reviewers Recommend" box -- which I assume it is, given that I've never been served one -- then it must also be possible to prevent tranny titles from being shown to those who don't want to see them. If you're working with some kind of algorithm which treats tranny porn as interchangeable with straight porn or as just another sub-category of straight porn, then you're working with a flawed algorithm.
^ Flash is right, way more even and I have years of sales data that confirms it. When we owned a gay DVD site the staff and customers told us all the time they did not want to see boobs, not even in the recommendations (people who bought title A, also bought title B, etc.), so all TS titles were placed only on our straight site. And that's where they sold and keep sellling. Jacco
Ideally it would be better for everyone if the ads were more tailored to our tastes, so we get served with the titles we would be most interested in. But that would be a lot more work for Drew, and then you get the people who cry Privacy and fret about advertisers who know too much about our interests. I had a small discussion about this with a friend. I was saying how badly the big advertising companies do in serving me advertisements, because all the I'm on the net I see advertisements for all sorts of shit I have no interest in, and it's very rare when I see something that interests me. Friend asked me if maybe it's just me and my own weird interests, since my recent search history would be for vacuum tubes, Raymond Chandler novels, huge-breasted lesbian porn, chili pepper plants and auto parts for a project car. Maybe I just don't fit established profiles. Edited by - jayo on 2/7/2015 12:41:10 PM

Let's call a spade a spade. I believe that the demographic for these movies is basically men are so filled with shame and conflict about their desire to watch two men fucking that they make this insane mental bargain with themselves that it doesn't count as "gay" if one of the two men appears to have undergone grotesque plastic surgery in some third world alley and a bunch of feminine pronouns and made-up terms like "she-male" are thrown around, so therefore of course they're "straight," how could you possibly think they're not straight, all of their straight buddies who totally aren't gay at all watch tranny porn all the time too and are 100% straight and not gay . . . Uh, OK, whatever works when you look at yourself in the mirror in the morning, guy . . . The industry's marketers may need to play along with this charade to an extent in order to keep moving product, but it's not reasonable to take it so far as to expect everyone to pretend that consumers who categorize themselves as straight and actually are straight, and completely uninterested in tranny porn, are going to be just as happy and accepting to be presented with an ad for Black Tranny Whackers as they are an ad for big tit porn or anal porn or Asian girl porn or big tit Asian anal porn or whatever.
I think it's important to realize which parts of the site are advertisements and which are simply chunks of automated content to get people into other areas of the website. We also don't track people's tastes/preferences/habits. (We don't want to know.) So we simply can't customize the ad slots.
I understand the privacy concerns, but one of the advantages from a consumer's POV is getting ads for things you'd truly be interested in. Even if it were an opt-in type of thing (e.g. I'd fill out a confidential questionaire of my interests). That way I'd get more ads for things I'd likely care about and fewer for things I obviously don't. Serving me ads for "Teenage Mutant Cum-Slut Anal Fistings 9" is totally wasted, whereas Pin-Up Girls 6 may have been released and I don't know it. Sorry--I'm not trying to horn in on anyone's business (literally) or make a lot of useless suggestions. But for some reason, late in life, I find advertising, marketing and consumer behavior more and more interesting. I keep hearing about all the incredible, sophisticated advertising going on, and then I go somewhere like Facebook and there's a link about Kim Kardasian's new haircut, which has less relevance and interest in my life than a story about new and improved Purina Duck-billed Platypus Chow.
