Is it me or have all the good directors that worked for Platinum X pictures moved over to Redlight?

First Manuell Ferrera and then Michael Stefano. Steve Holmes is the only good director left at PlatinumX, how long before he shifts over.

I know they are the same company but are they planning to leave PlatinumX for the less talented directors?

I guess that tastes are really varied.
To me Brandon Iron and Jewel are really great directors, at the same level of Steve Holmes. Mason doesn't shoot often but when she does it's a masterwork, Kylie Ireland seems to follow Mason's path. Recently PXP also acquired Toni Ribas who really shoots great stuff. Sean Michaels is not really good when shooting ethnic themed flicks, but he has a great taste for big titted white chicks like Lisa Sparxxx. The only PXP director of which I'm not really enthusiastic is Julian.

On the other hand Red Light has Everhard, Stefano, Ferrara and Mike John who are all locks for great smut flicks, but their other directors are a bit hit and miss and Vince Vouyer is really the worst of the lot. Since he discontinued Multiple POVs, that was his best idea, I have yet to see something satisfying from him. He only shoot one kind of girls, short plain janish teenies, he keeps the interviewing part too long (too teasing not enough pleasing) and he has the lowest anal percentage among the 2 companies.

To sum it up, in my book PXP is in front of RLD.

I think that is a very tasteless comment. It's obvious that you have your likes and dislikes, but please show some class in sharring. I agree that losing Stefano to RLD didn't make me happy, but the bottom has not fallen out of PXP yet.

I can't speak on the who, what, whens, and why's, but both of those studios have good and bad days. I think RLD has a more consistant product, but at any given time PXP will knock the cover off the ball. Unlike Anabolic Diabolic and Evil and Elegant Angel. I think that RLD - PXP are sister companies in the truest sense of the words. I also think the rivalry will inspire the staffs of the two companies to produce a product far superior to what we currently see.

In short, don't hate, Celebrate!

I'm not planning to leave and I disagree that I'm the only good director at PXP. I'm happy that you like my work, but don't underestimate Brandon Iron, John Strong, Kylie Ireland, Mason, Sean Michaels and Toni Ribas. You might not like everybody. That is OK! Here at PXP we have the freedom to shoot what we want. Most of the above mentioned directors own their movies. We invest our own money and PXP is distributing our product.

Just pick what you like and leave the rest for others who might have a different taste.

Well said Mr. Holmes. May I also compliment you on Super Sluts. I know it's not a new release, but I saw it over the weekend and I see why people speak well of your work.

Well although at the moment I give the edge to PXP, as far as my tastes go, but RLD is in a close second - so I disagree with your comments. I think Kylie, Mason, Steve, Jewel and Brandon are all good directors - they just vary in style. As for the others... well let me say their work don't quite measure of to the others right now in my eyes.

I consider Mason the best director in the industry (in my opinion). Last I checked she still was with PXP. Also, I would say redlight has more titles I could care less about (no offense).

I just picked up Dual Invasion . That was a great smut flick directed by John Strong. Most of flicks by either company are usually good in my experience.

Steve Holmes,

In Dual Invasion you said you wanted to get Marie Luv on one of your sets. I hope that happens in the near future. She is hot. I would love to see her in a great anal scene with you performing.

I must admit I did forget Brandon Iron off the list as a good director. He seems to be doing less titles nowadays...but when he does release a movie they are often excellent.

Don't get me wrong but John Strong, Kylie Ireland, Mason, Sean Michaels and Toni Ribas can all make good titles, but i find their stuff hit and miss.

Brandon Iron is the most successful director at PXP. His titles sell best. He releases one title a month since the company started. His movie "I love it rough" was the first PXP title.

You will see great movies from John Strong. Since he is with PXP and owns his movies, he has much more freedom and opportunities than he used to.

I think it's more accurate to think in terms of directors and not studios -- except that RLD has a great team of performers/shooters, so if Mike John is behind the camera it's gonna be great no matter what. And if anyone like Holmes, Ferrarra, Everhard or Stefano is in front of the camera, ditto. It's foolproof, really. And it seems to overflow into PXP titles, such as those by Brandon. It's a good system, the only flaw is that so much product coming out resembles the other product, which is why I have to say that PXP has an edge with Brandon and Mason doing things a little differently. I am interested in Kylie's new movies -- maybe she has another spin, as well.

Red Light does some good shit, but PXP rules of the 2. The Dvd's are always packed with good extra footage, tease, trailers and such.. I have seen several awesome movies from them (bell bottoms #2 bakers dozen photographic mammaeries) Brandon is a great director the dude is a pervert and knows what we wanna see

I don't get what does it matter who directs under what title RLD or PXP as we are all one in the same? We all use each other in our movies and work together just one box says RLD and one PXP that's it. Directors from RLD will be directing for PXP too, we just shift directors around depending on how many releases need to be put out. Right now PXP is so far ahead that we won't need any RLD directors until Feb to pick up some of the slot's for release dates comming out in the months to come. Anyone at RLD can direct for PXP if a slot is open but right now we are full for several months and RLD had open slots so they got filled that's what goes on with joint companies we all work with each other when needed. And soon we'll all be in the same building so wether it's PXP or RLD it doesn't matter just watch what director or title float's your boat.

jewel you are right on, i love movies from both PXP and RLD. i think you are a great director jewel, i just wish you would let mason dirrect an collars and chain all girl rough sex series. with lots of dirty talk and with a dom and sub theme. here a sample of what i would love to see jewel. this is not bondage but it has fetish themes. scene 1. lauren phoenix brings kylie ireland in on a lesh crawling on her hands and knees. she stops and says to kylie in a stern voice, kiss my ass you fucking bitches. she then takes kylie"s face and forces between her ass cheeks. and lauren"s dominates kylie the hole scene. other girls i want to see in this series are. dee, jessica darlin, rhiannon bray, dasha the former vivid giel, dayton raines, another former vivid girl. and teanna kai. jewel please you or mason, make my dreams come true. i love the series dirty girlz, i have all of them, but i want it more rough and with more bSDM themes. thanks for your great work jewel.

Jewel, with this closer collaboration between RLD and PXP, what will happen of the girl recruiting policies?
One of the reasons for which I prefered PXP to RLD from day one was that you, Brandon, Sean etc... always hired a wider range of girls types than RLD. Some of the best PXP scenes ever included Sophia, Anna Nova, Ginger Lynn, you and other chicks with implants and/or not in the 18/25 years range.
The other side of the holding, RLD, has a strict no implants/no fully blown women policy.
What of the two policies will prevail? Will we be forced to see the same flat chested 4'10" inches tall teenagers in PXP movies too?

I like the fact that PXP and RLD use girls of varying ethnicities in their films. I tire of all caucasion films. They've been putting out titles that mix it up with Asian, Black, White, and Latin girls. That is the kind of porn I like.

Just to avoid some confusion. Brandon Iron, Erik Everhard, John Strong, Manuel Ferrara, Michael Stefano, Mike John, Sean Michaels, Steve Holmes, Toni Ribas and Vince Vouyer own the rights of their movies and distribute either through RLD or PXP. We are free to shoot whom and how we want . Than there are directors who shoot on behalf of the companies in a certain style the owners of the companies request.

That is the reason why you will find a lot of diversity in both company's products. Our strength is that we all support each other. We perform exclusively for each others and help out shooting camera if one of the directors perform in a scene.

Steve,

does it mean you could move your released series to another company ?
Or only the unreleased titles of a label?

No, I have an exclusive contract with Platinum X Pictures. If PXP or I decide to quit the contract, my released movies will still be sold by PXP.

Yes, I know that in theory it should be like that.
But AFAIK Lex Steele had that kind of contract as well and yet he was dismissed by RLD because - according to Dion's words on this same forum - he shot a lot of women which didn't comply with RLD's image policy, i.e. women with implants and industry veterans.
So, I assume that in fact you, Sean, Brandon and John are in fact more free in your choice of women than Erik, Mike and Manuel. I think that it's not coincidence that - except for those few Lex Steele releases - I only remember a few fake titted girls in Erik's flicks (Stacy Silver, Karma) and one veteran in Mike John's (Rayveness) in the whole RLD production, while OTOH the number of girls in those 2 categories in PXP flicks is much higher.

This has more to do with the taste of the directors. I personally prefer natural boobs, but if I'm really into the girl I don't care much about the implants. I know for instance that Manuel loves big fake boobs and he is free to shoot it.
