I have mixed feelings on the matter. I just know that when girls lose weight and their breasts suddenly shrink it can kind of be annoying at times. Did anyone here see Scotti Andrews when she made a couple of new films last year? She was fit and trim like never before but her once nearly perfect breasts were suddenly flat.

Like I said, I feel mixed about this. It bothers me but not so much that I will lose all interest in a girl if she loses weight. Sometimes the loss of weight shocks the hell out of me, like with Zora Banks. She had one of the most toned bodies I'd ever seen and then she lost weight and admitted here at AdultDVDTalk that she had kept some weight just so her breasts would stay so large. And it's only now when I look at her old scenes extremely closely where I can see places she probably lost weight. It's an odd thing for all pornstars to go through.

A couple of recent examples are Alex Devine and Nautica Thorn. Check out Alex's profile with LaDirectModels: http://www.ladirectmodels.com/alexdevine.htm She does not look anything like that anymore. For probably half a year she worked with that body and now she has started doing anal and looks completely different. She lost so much weight that her breasts have probaby come down a cup size. And with Nautica Thorn you wouldn't guess it but if you look at her earliest work and look at something like "Teen Tryouts #32" or "Santeria" it is pretty apparent she has put a little time in at the gym or is on some new diet.

Sometimes it alters my perception of a girl and sometimes not, but I usually stay interested.

PS...I hesitated to post here because I didn't want to sound like I was calling girls fat or anything like that. Some of my favorite stars have endured such ridicule their whole career and it constantly pisses me off. And the fact is that "full-figured" women really do it for me. Girls like Taylor Rain do nothing for me.

Another example: Kimberly Chambers, when she first started she had such a perfect body with a lot of fat on the right places but then she decided to hit the gym and now it's all gone.

I think the answer to the question lies in where the girl wants to go in the industry and how big a star she wants to be. I'm certain that many an aspiring starlet was or is told after her first successful forays into porn, that if she wants to have a long career, have widespread appeal and make it into the bigger productions, she'd better lose the 10 to 20 pounds. And the big, contract stars all have a sameness of body type to them.

In over 30 years of watching porn, I've seen too much evidence for this not to be true. I too, remember how fleshy and curvy Debi Diamond was at the very beginning, before she hit the gym and became a big star. Same with Alexandria Quinn when she was underaged. She came back as a real hardbody. Another example is Friday. I remember falling in love with her in Ass Clowns Too, when she was a brunette and thick and curvy. Then she came back blonde and toned and angular. She's never gonna be skinny, but she's nowhere near the beautiful mass of curves she once was. The late Holly Landes was another one. Her appearance changed dramatically from beautifully thick until she almost looked like a crack whore when she left the business. Even somebody like Lovette, hardened up her body, to go along with the boob staple-ons she added. I'm hearing now that the deliciously curvy Gia Paloma is being told to drop some lbs. She was sportin' some fabulous flesh in Zupko's Big Wet Asses, that I just saw a couple of weeks ago.

If girls don't do this, or if they gain weight, then they get pigeonhold into the Big Butt and Chunky Chicks niche where guys like me who love them that way, live. Kiki D'aire went that route, as did Bianca Jordan. SO did the beautiful Kennedy who's ample body I loved in her early Armegeddon and Extreme videos. Caroline Pierce looked like she was headed that way, and I think she quit the business. The one new aspect that I'm seeing is the more mature porn starlet returning after an absence, with the fleshier curves of womanhood coming back with her. Shanna McCollugh was in the vanguard of this and Jessica Darlin and Tiffany Minx are good examples of girls that went away and came back bigger and better. There is room for this now, that might not have existed 10-15 years ago.

But for a girl to be a thick girl and be a big-porn, cover girl type is rare. Only a few have pulled it off and they were special. Katja Kassin's and Oliva O'lovely's beauty is undeniable and their thickness hasn't hurt them. The late Kristi Lynn was another undeniable star with a bigger than normal, beautiful ass, but she had all the power of Stagliano and the Evil Empire "behind" her, when they were just getting rolling.

Bottom line is, even though we are a vocal minority, big ass, big girl lovers such as us, are still a minority. Especially here in America. And even though the porn industry is serving us better, I think it is still viewed as a specialty market.

FYI - I saw Caroline Pierce at CES this last January, and she looked awesome, IMO. She HAD lost a lot of weight, but she is by no means skinny right now. Just big and bottom-curvy and more toned. And she looked REALLY happy.

As for girls like Katja Kassin or Krysti Lynn, they are the type of girl who are blessed from birth with a certain proportionality that normally doesn't exist in nature. This is awkward to say about Kristi, but I thought that in her last few movies, the cellulite that she had developed in her thighs and stomach was turning me off. But when she was a little more toned and still womanly, it was great. Katja's got that same type of body right now. Toned but gorgeously curvy.
Me, no matter how much I try, if I work out too much, I get too skinny and lose my ass. If I work out less, I get an ass but a lot of cellulite to go with it.

It's difficult for the girls in the business. They get a lot of confusing different things thrown at them.

As it is for women (and girls) in real life. No matter how much guys like me tell them that they're fine with their bodies, even if they have a big ass or heavy thighs or even a little poochy belly, females are still bombarded with cultural images and standards of beauty that say otherwise.

And women still get down on themselves because of it.

Hopefully with Jay-Lo and Beyonce playing up their natural big booties, and Britney Spears succeeding in part, because she's got a "sister" ass, there is hope that younger women won't be as psychologically damaged by their own notions of poor body image.

I've got to say this about gonzo films, there's a lot more variety of women's figures that you can see, from slim to curvy, compared to just about any other form of entertainment, and with less emphasis (though not zero, Skeeter!) on plastic surgery to get the results we see on film.

I imagine, though, that it must be difficult for young porn actresses to know what to think, when they see that most of the feature actresses who get contracts have had implants, and maybe even other work done.

In Michael Stefano's Fresh Faces 3, in the Behind the scenes footage, you see him desperately trying to talk Jamie Brooks and Corinne Taylor out of getting breast implants. And the women are just as determined to get them. He was only partially successful with his arguments; since then (Oct. 2003), Jamie has had hers done.

Understand your point about the implants. That is a whole 'nother discussion.

I like big tits as much as the next guy, but I got no use for implants. And they don't add to a woman's voluptuousness quotient as far as I'm concerened, even if they do add symetry to her body. No girl has to get implants for me.

Percy Walker, things might be slightly worse for American women because we are bombarded by images constantly from TV, movies, magazines, billboards, etc. that say that certain ways of looking for women are better than others, so it's difficult to ignore all this, and still feel good about yourself. When I've been to Europe, it's one of the nice things I liked in France and Scandinavia, that there's far fewer billboards. Plus, the women in those countries just looked more confident to me, without relying a lot on makeup, or trendy clothes, or what have you. There seemed, at least in my limited experience, that there was less emphasis on female appearence in those countries than here in the US, while at the same time the men over there dress better than American men. Then again, I did see more than one ad in the Oslo, Norway newspaper for plastic surgery, so who knows.

Vanessa Del Rio was a buxom star in the 70's, and we've already talked about Krysti Lynn and her big ass in the early 90's. Missy and her big butt had a nice little run in the late 90's, but none of them had the total star power of you. None of them were consistent cover girls, or consistent main attractions like you are.

And even with that, I'm sure there still must have been pressures on you to try and change your body type to fit an industry image. You say that you've always been pretty comfortable with your body, and Lord knows your boyfriends have, but I remember you telling us before that most of the modeling agencies in your home country told you that you were too fat, or your butt was too big.

I'm not sure if your success is an indication that porn is so readily accepting of the bigger, thicker woman (even though THEY ARE providing us with more specifc product than before), or just the realization that Katja Kassin is one of the most beautiful women on earth.
