Porn Addiction or Diversion?
Porn is not an addiction it's a diversion.
We now have more time on our hands than ever before. Humans have always looked for escape from their daily lives.
You have avid hunters, golfers, football fans. But we are addicts. That's crazy it's a diversion.
Here I am wasting away an afternoon. I need to cut my grass, but here I am watching porn and posting on a porn board.
Am I addicted to porn or do I just don't want to cut the fuckin grass. (BTW I just call a lawn service to come over and cut it. They will do a better job than I do)
I say it's like anything else it's a harmless diversion.
It effect your sex life. You sex life wasn't that great before you started watching porn.
Time It doesn't consume nearly as much time as hunting, fishing, golf or watching sports.
Money again porn is very cheap. Try buying 4 season ticket to your local professional sports team.
Porn is a good way to waste your time.

I think just about anything in the universe could be classified as either an addiction or a diversion depending on how it's handled by the person in question.
Is it possible to be "addicted" to porn? Sure. If someone starts watching porn at the expense of all else, they stop talking to their family and friends, they stop eating, they stop taking care of their personal hygiene, they spend money they don't have on it, etc, then that's pretty much all the same symptoms as any other addiction. Luckily, most of us, even if we love our porn, don't quite get to that point.

Wouldn't the blisters on your dick stop you before getting to that point.

^I'm happy to say that I don't know the answer to that question, because it's never gotten to that point for me. :)

Great topic Shag. I for one hate it when it is deemed a addiction because it involves sex. Every time it involves sex or anything along those terms it is deemed bad. Just like that Pornstar who became a school lunch lady that was in the news, just because she use to be a 'pornstar' everyone from parents to the school board wanted her fired, why because she did something horrible, no because she chose to have sex on camera and get paid for having a sexy ass body that she showed off years ago. The news didn't even give her a chance they right away said fire her her now, doesn't matter if she is a good person or done anything wrong just fire her. I feel the same way about my hobby, I love being a member of porn sites and forums. Hey like mentioned earlier some guys like to shoot golf and watch movies of horror or action, I choose to go to strip clubs, buy and download porn and I am just as good a person as those hipocrites who enjoy the other maybe even a better person period. The world is filled with far too many people who judge books by there cover and if don't understand or like something bash it to hell no matter what!

Money is an addictive diversion. Sex is normal.

I believe that no time is wasted, it can always be used in diffirent ways, many times in better ways, but it's never wasted. Staring at the wall may be the most enlightening thing one can do, but it won't impress people. It's kind of sad that people don't understand how they learn things through everything they do, even if they can't prove the knowledge or skills with diplomas.
