I have never been a watcher of much porn, although I have ended up posting here for some fucked up reason. Anyway, I have found porn so boring recently - I am not sure if this is because titles have been sub standard or I personally have become bored. Has anybody else experienced this ever? To try and convince me porn is not boring, plz recommend 1 or more smoking hot "unmissable" scenes from a film you have seen.
It is not uncommon for porn fans to reach a porn burnout level after watching porn on a fairly regular basis. I am sure that myself and many other board members can relate to that. However, you said that you have never been a watcher of much porn, but have found porn boring recently. Therefore, burnout is not likely your problem.
It is possible that what you have been watching has been substandard. Could you be more specific about your likes/dislikes/requirements? If you are looking for something in particular, there is a good chance that it has been made, even if you haven't found it on your porn store shelf. The reviews here can be helpful, and there are many posters who know a lot about porn. So provide a little more information please, and we will try to help you. Welcome! Gonzo can get boring real fast. There are a few great scenes, an example would be Manuel Ferrara and Sunny Lane in the first Massive Asses, but they are buried in a mountain of mediocre, formulaic trash. Maybe you should check out some features, Eli Cross' recent stuff is excellent, and the 'classics' from the 70s can be a refreshing change from gonzo: Nothing to Hide or Neon Nights are good places to start.
Thanks for the reply. Regarding recomendations... that is kind of the problem. I can't provide you with what Genre I would like to see because I am finding virtually all of them boring! Therefore any genre, excluding gay, scat and other extremes is likely to no more stimulation or boring than another!
Joel, i think you are looking at this from the wrong direction, instead of trying to find scenes you like i think you need to find girls you like, i meen really like, this is so down to personnel taste and its you who has to find them. I would say for me there are only about 10 girls making porn that i find attractive enough that i want to watch them on tv, now if it was in real life i'd probably want to have sex with about 99% of female porn stars, but unless you find the girl in a scene amazing it can be a waste of time watching it! I'm with you, Joel. I used to rent 2-3 videos, every other day or so. I did that for more than 20 years. Lately, I haven't found much that I want to see. I was in a video store last week that put out 25 new videos and I didn't rent even one. I don't know if I'm becoming more discriminating but 2nd rate porn doesn't interest me much anymore. I hope things improve sometime soon.
I have films from many different genres for different moods. Mainly, US and UK films. The UK films are more real and a good break from the standardised US films. Have a look at One eyed Jack. I have enjoyed Shanes world Campus invasion but the last one I saw was too arranged for my taste. The first ones are fantastic and you just wish you were a college student again.
I now watch porn for nearly 15 years ( starting with 14 ) and never was bored with porn, but sometimes bored with US porn. Excluding feature movies, normal porn movies are too repetitive and too superficial. I'm not gonna post all of the reasons because I've done that probably too many times here. But yes. Typical porn gets boring quick. Because it's typical. Cheap. Made for the masses. What it all boils down to is that a person's sexual identity is quite unique. The more unique it is, the harder it's going to be for that person to find something they like. You know that feeling you get when you buy something that's exactly like what everybody else has and you just wish it was slightly different to suit your individual taste? That's what people get tired of in porn. Because no matter how slightly different it would need to be in order to suit you, the nagging fact that it isn't exactly what you want to see will always be there in the back of your mind. After a while, you'll get tired of looking for a certain thing and seemingly finding everything but what you're looking for. That's the point where all porn starts to look the same. Not sure what you mean by other extremes, but I'm assuming your including content such as handjob sites, gloryhole sites, tranny flicks, German and Japanese Bukkake flicks, Old Farts Young Tarts, as the sort of generally standard, less extreme kind of smut that no longer floats your boat? If so, I would concur with the previously suggested "Porn Sabbatical". If not, and you've been limiting your menu strickly to Vanilla DVD Gonzo, I believe some sampling would be in order.
A few factors that come to mind: 1) As a guy when you first start watching porn basically any porn is awsome. After a while though you start to develope standards: certain genres, studios, and stars you like. Things like the cinematography, porn acting, and the direction really start to matter. Stuff I loved when I was 16 I probably can't stand watching now. 2) Even good porn can get tiring if you watch similar stuff day after day. Compare it to food. Think of your favorite meal, but imagine if you had to eat it for every meal for two weeks straight. Chances are you'd get sick of it. Well same goes if day after day you're only watching gangbangs, or one on one interacial, or squirting scenes, or whatever. I find mixing it up is a way to go. 3) The industry is getting watered down. There's probably more good stuff than ever, the only problem is it can be harder to find that good stuff because there's way more porn being made than ever before. Rewiews on the internet like from this site can be helpful. Really though fact is sometimes you will buy something you won't like as much as you thought you would. You just try to do the best you can.
Video stores allow me the quickest, most failsafe means for keeping abreast of what I've seen, what I haven't, of what movies have just released this week, last week, the week before that, and the week before that, to my last point of reference. The internet is convenient, and has its own benefits of reference, but unless one has a catagorically managed inventory of porn, of all studio releases, of titles that were delayed, titles that were delayed and later released with little or no notice, as well as titles released from alternate, lesser known sources, I've found its window of perception very constricted. Not to suggest that video stores are the absolute answer, being obviously limited to whatever each establishment happens to have in stock, and/or purchased from their source distributer, but alternating between a couple of good stores, is for myself, sufficient. In the amount of time it takes, the comprehension, and degree of awareness one has, rifling through 60 titles in a video rack, scanning covers at will, stopping at any hint of interest, on any genre, flipping any jewelcase to scan the rear cover, and decyphering the myriad of variables each one presents or lacks, imo simply pales by comparisen through a computer monitor. ...and, to remain on topic, provides me the best chance of stumbling upon somthing new and different. ^There aren't any good brick and mortar stores anywhere near where I live. If you happen to live in a city with good porn stores with wide varieties of titles, lots of new releases, and knowledgeable staff, great. You probably take them for granted, but from where I live, you're lucky in that respect. But there's nothing like that around where I live, or at least I haven't found those stores yet. I like XRent. It's very easy to search by star, or director, or studio, or series, or theme. In the brick and mortar stores I've been in, it would have been much harder to find a title with two of your favorite stars and in a specific genre, unless you already knew the title, or at least the studio. And you can still find new things online. You get a video for one girl, but then another girl on that video also gives a great scene, so you search for other stuff that girl has done. Or other titles in that series or by that director. Et cetera.
