First, in this day of downloading and streaming, are there any sales or download metrics that would help identify who the most popular performers are, or which scenes are the most popular, for a given time period (month or year would probably be most relevant)? Used to be you could walk into a video store and pretty quickly figure out that Ginger Lynn or Asia Carrera was at or near the top of the heap; and AVN may have had some metrics, too, though I can't recall. Second, is there a better way to find out scene counts for various performers by type (gangbang, blowbang, DP, DVP, etc.) or number of scenes or partners than by going to her IAFD profile and counting up the number of such scenes or scrolling to the bottom of her pairings tab? I wouldn't trust the statistics completely but to get an idea on who is popular you could now and then observe the following sites: - FreeOnes overall rank (weekly, monthly, yearly, all-time) - Pornhub Pornstar rank and the person's number of subscribers - XVideos worldwide ever rankings - IAFD homepage has several Top 10 By Pages Viewed that I believe resets every week - IMDb STARmeter; if someone manages to get into the Top 5000 I would say that's significant - AdultDVDEmpire Current Bestsellers for DVD and On Demand - CDUniverse (Adult DVDs 18+ section); if you search by title and enter a specific DVD name; it will tell you whether or not it's a Top Seller With DVDs that sell well, most releases include scenes of multiple performers but I do think it's a useful reference for star showcases or star compilations that focus on primarily on 1 girl. If those DVDs in particular are selling well (for outdated technology) then it would suggest she's popular and has enough of a large fanbase willing to buy a physical release for collecting purposes or to show their financial support. With IAFD for scene counts by type e.g. DP you could just ctrl + f DP on a performer's page to save yourself time counting. Just double check you're not accidentally counting unrelated text and use the Next (Down) or Previous (Up) buttons. This is however assuming the tags are fully up-to-date and not incomplete. There might also be missing titles also as thorough as the database is; there are still things missing.
