I just received a DVD today as a matter of fact, a wide screen, just taking a chance to see what the image quality was like, the distributor have other DVD's I'm interested in, if this one is any good I'll buy more, but guess what, horrible image quality just like I suspected it would be, not worth a damn!
This is the DVD, Mila & Sylvie from Debut Girls, video is from the ALS site, the Debut Girls outfit have a number of releases on DVD from ALS, there's no American release on DVD of this particular modern ALS content, like I said if this DVD was any good I'd buy a few more but no way, horrible image quality, you have to sub to ALS to get the high definition download.
Not every wide screen DVD is bad though, some distributors do it better than others, mostly I concentrate on back issue standard DVD's from Europe now in PAL format, and even American 4/3's are't bad mostly, the wide screen 16/9 is a problem though, I mostly avoid wide screen DVD's anymore, I've had enough.
So yeah I have no idea how many DVD's I have, like you I prefer DVD's over download, there's so much more in a DVD than a simple download, and I like having that disk in a jewel case with art work sitting on my shelf, one day when I have time I may do an inventory, I have a feeling it's more than a thousand, in fact it may be in the thousands!!!
