Hello folks,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
I am hoping to get some porn director recommendations from you guys. I'll list some of my favourite directors to give you an idea of what I like.
Mario Salieri / Nicky Ranieri. Big fan of a lot of their work.
Max Belluchio.
Luca Damiano.
Joe Damato.
Can you recommend any directors along those lines?
Furthermore, I am a huge fan of classic porn (golden age of porn). I believe i have in my collection a large number of movies from that era, but if you can suggest any lesser known gems, and some directors I should look up, please let me know.
Names that come to mind from the 70's/80's are Henri Pachard, Alex De Renzy, Henry Paris, Phil Prinz, and others.
I am also a huge Tinto Brass fan, who while not being a hardcore/porn producer is one of the very best when it comes to erotica. Any directors/movie recommendations in the vein of Tinto Brass would also be very welcome.

Have you checked out the classic era films of Armand Weston and Cecil Howard?
Michael Zen's Reflections is a real 70s gem that doesn't get name checked too often.
When it comes to Europorn I assume you've seen the features of Lasse Braun? Some of Jesse Franco's better films are on that soft/hardcore line.

check out the films of Gerard Damiano, they are great classics, and are among the best of the classic X films that were ever made. I recommend The Story of Joanna as his best, sadly I don't think it's on DVD at this point, but I did read recently(in the past month) that Damiano's son and daughter are looking to put their fathers films out on blu ray, so hoping that happens soon. Also check out the movie Insatiable with Marilyn Chambers it's a great film from the golden age, and I can't imagine anyone not liking it, when people ask for a great classic porn film, that is one that immediately springs to my mind. I would say if you like classic porn of any kind, you will like Insatiable, it's available in an amazingly well done special edition DVD too, but don't buy the I-Candy DVD, but the one from I think it's Dynasty, or VCX, maybe someone else can help me out, I own it, but I don't have it available to look at right now. It's got the film beautifully restored, and also it has 2 commentaries one with Gloria leonard, and one with Marilyn Chambers, both of whom are no longer with us, and also an interview with Marilyn CHambers, so it's really a great DVD to own. Hope this help some.
