Since so many Porn Stars prefer to spend some months feature dancing and escorting instead of filming the whole year, I have a question.

Do girls, who built up a name with some porn films, then earn more on the dance circuit and in escorting than with porn?

$$$ to have your photo taken with porn star.
$$$ for autograph
Tips on stage.

Now I've known average looking women who were strippers make rent in one night (nothing going on on the side). How much more would a porn star make? Remember that the place is probably busier because she is in too.

And escorting would earn them even more...

Dude, if there weren't money around, would we even try so hard to get money? Its the only reason we pile the stuff up.

I think you meant "Dude, if there weren't women around...".

So money=women/women=money?

It's interesting that doing porn is in many cases not for the big money but for getting the reputation, which allows the girl to charge the big money as a feature dancer or escort.

I'm trying to get language down to the common word "ungawa". It worked for Tarzan and meant whatever he needed it to mean. So simple and elegant that even a chimpanzee understood exactly what he meant every time, even though it meant something different every time.

I don't know how much money porn stars get from the clubs in appearance fees but generally the cover charge is raised to $20-$30 and they charge $20 for polaroids.

The porn is just PR, the dancing is the real money making job.

I'll do the unpopular thing again and give you all some real numbers.
Me, little ole me, who nobody in their right mind has ever heard of (except all you wonderful people at ADT), was offered $1500 to do a weekend stint at a local club. Now, it's local, so there would be no travel expenses or anything of any kind for me, this is ALL gonna go in my pocket. What does the weekend stint consist of? 3 sets per day, 2 days. That is approximately 4 songs per dance set - maybe 20 whole minutes on stage each set. That's only ONE HOUR of "work" per day!!! Yeah, you'd stand around and do the picture thing, or sign whatever, or sell extra whatevers... but c'mon now, is that really work? For an attention hound like me??? Yeah - but damn, it might be fun :)
So, figure the $1500 from the club, PLUS all the tips and selling goodies for a little no-name gal in a little no-name bar in a little no-name city. Now ramp that up, WAY up, for a gal with a NAME in a CLUB in a CITY. Now you know why they dance and tour and escort rather than sit around and get over-shot and do porn.

Unfortunately, I'm so insecure and such an idiot I didn't do it. I'm a wuss.

Who would pay $20 for a polaroid or an autograph from a pornstar? What are you going to do with a pornstars autograph the don't raise in value like an athlete or an actor. Speaking of which my dad got Dr. J's autograph in 1982 and its supposed worth about $400 now.

Some people simply like collecting autographs without any interest in their long-term resell value: it's purely for some sort of entertainment value.

I don't think that everyone's activities must be focused on monetary return.

Me, is not for the monetary value of the photo, is all what it "means" to you, I have A polaroid with Silvia Saint that is like my treasure. Of course no one will give the $400 they offer for your dad's but I don't care. Was money well spend.

Hey, my post was 45 minutes after haze's. I doubt that I'm the fastest keyboardist in town; everyone is just sleeping in late. :)

Autographs as an investment?
That's funny.

In my opinion an autograph is a reminder of the moment you met your star.
That's why I always ask for a personal autograph with my name, the date and the city on it. Although this lowers the resale value to zero.
