I just love porn that has a larger budget and maketing etc.but these could be their own threads in time to come. This concerns porn movies or scenes that have been officially announced and given a release date in advance. It is a total game changer in terms of how we view and consume adult entertainment. Most porn is either dropped out of blue or we get notified with a preview the week a scene is releasing. Needless to say most porn is consumed as something of a throwaway. Porn with a release date changes that and ask fans to be more patient to build up anticipation. It is not very easy to announce release date in advance because porn sites like all paid streaming sites rely on monthly billing cycles (you'll notice Netflix gives even some of their biggest movies release dates quite close to their release).
Needless to say it is just unheard in adult industry. To display a studio's confidence the celing is usually a showcase that is announced the week it begins. With Hotel Vixen series of VMG this changes and we have release date of some scenes well in advance. Namely, Feb 17th : Breaking the Ice with Sonya and Lika (Sonya Blaze and Lika Star for Vixen) Feb 18th : Scarlett and Honour's Poolside Service (Scarlett Jones and Honour May for Blacked). Feb 19th : Irresistible Jia (Jia Lissa for Tushy) Feb 26th : Stefany's Offsite Training (Stephany Kyler for Tushy) Mar 4th : Checking In With Sonya (Sonya Blaze for Blacked) Mar 5th : Liya's Double Occupancy (Liya Silver for Tushy) [Link] |

But in this day and age, with studios fighting for subscriptions, it's only too understandable they are trying out various means of binding existing and getting new customers, and everyone (this also includes mainstream streamers etc.) is still fine tuning their methods: what works best, what gets most views, but also what incentivizes new customers to sign up. Is it really necessary paying an obscene amount for an exclusive contract for starlet A, if it still only gets the same amount of new customers as the month before? (or speaking in terms of netflix: Is it really sensible paying $400M on a production, if this doesn't get me any considerable edge (and customer boost) in the short?mid?long? term.) |
