In the early 2000s Vivid and Wicked (among others) where the dominant mainstream porn companies. I would say from late 90s to mid 2000s, between Vivid (and later Club Jenna too) it wasn't huge quantities but it was constant quality.

But its not just that. Maybe Covid helped play a role in that but i feel the bukkake/blowbangs series have significantly decrease in the last couple years, even before covid a lot of franchise/lines stopped. So if we check the list, not only the prices have gone way up (not talking of inflation, but model of content), the quality decreased, the variety of content also dismishing more and more, the lost of superstars and not getting replaced by other mega stars as much as before, hairy vaginas being more a normality than not, thus making finding bald vagina porn extremely hard, tatoos being also more the norm than the exeption as before.
I just feel im getting less and less interested in porn... Im assuming the revenues are still there, because of OF, i mean lots of customers absolutely adore this whole "interaction" thing and are willing to tip 20-30$ left and right just to be able to DM their favorite stars (even if they probably actually talk with an assistant lol) or pay crazy sums to have "customs" made. But for someone like me who just want good old normal quality porn, its just getting so hard to find.
