| dexplorer Member 442 Posts 8/01 | Why is it that more than a few sex forward women who like watching pornography, often prefer gay male porn? For example when searching for something else, I was reminded of this comment by Tricia Devereaux. I've seen many others, not just here, but elsewhere. I realize this is probably a very weird and even threatening idea to the average woman out there, but I think often not among those who have seen quite a bit of hardcore porn, and sometimes get pretty into it. Anyway, that's my impression. I've got a couple of theories, but forget that. Ladies, what are your reasons? Those of you who often or sometimes feel this way. [Link] |

| dexplorer Member 442 Posts 8/01 | Do you also particularly like the specifically male on male penetration better than watching male -female penetration, etc., or is it just the presence of better looking guys and the absence of bimbo looking women that might turn you off? Do you like watching (who you consider) really beautiful women in straight porn -- or would you rather not be bothered by the "competition", and instead see more next door types who also aren't bimbo types? There are I hear (mostly from here) a fair number of men who'd rather never see other men in porn at all, just their cocks perhaps, making it easier for them to identify and project themselves into that role. I never feel that way. I just don't like the sleazy type male pornstars. Really forceful good ones I do like seeing. E.g. Marc Davis, Rocco. Though when I don't much like the male pornstars I can fairly easily just ignore them. They've got to be pretty obnoxious for me to not be able to do that. It's just an empirical guess Steph -- not a statement of some "high theory" on my part, and not what I think should be the case, etc.Remember, I was talking about the average American woman, not the average ADT woman talker, or the average woman who'se already been into hardcore porn for a while. (A small minority -- estimated by poll (started by me) here recently at between 3-7%) I guess my guess revolves around my observation that most American women seem to react to the idea that some guy they were interested in (or their boyfriend or husband) was really bisexual, with a fair amount of horror. NOT the most sex forward types (such as yourself perhaps), but most. The same women who might like having a gay male friend or two, often doesn't want to find out her boyfriend also swings that way. From what I have seen. The strong taboo against MALE bisexuality is not carried by men alone. But tell me what you think. Do you really believe that the average American woman who has never seen much hardcore porn of any sort, would be as open to well done gay male porn, as well done couples oriented straight hardcore? Maybe my guess is wrong. School me!! Edited by - dexplorer on Dec 3 2001 |

Assuming they're straight as arrows, they want to watch the guys, not the girls. Assuming they're in any way Bi, they probably still want to watch attractive guys, as well as girls. (If they're totally lesbian, they already the existing genre right there and can easily avoid watching guys totally if they choose.) Now since the Guys are better looking in gay porn, theres one answer. Assuming these women that are interested in men and are open to watching smut are not male-male homophobic, it seems reasonable that they'd be interested in at least having a look at male-male porn. After all, there's the whole lesbian chic thing, and bi/homosexuality amongst women being more acceptable to the general public than m-m, so why would women not be curious to see what the other side of same-sex sex looks like, especially when they've likely seen a pile of g-g scenes if they've watched any porn at all. You could even throw in the whole thing of watching m-m sex being more "taboo" and all that, and therefore having even more of a sexual/curious attraction for the initial viewing, at which point people can make up their minds about what they like watching. Finally, I'm sure that many women who like and even prefer watching m-m porn also watch a little of the regular "straight" stuff (so-called "straight" porn that has g-g and m-f-f scenes as staples). I mean, I like watching Private stuff, but I have a few g-g vids in my collection... BTW Dex, this is in response to your initial post, not your second one where you changed the question about -which- women we're talking about. ;) As for what the average-non-porn-watching American woman thinks, I don't think I'm qualified to respond, being neither American nor average-non-porn-watching. Err.. Or a woman for that matter. cheers, scipio |
