Recently I resubbed to two very well known sites. Both sites are now only stream only but with an extra £10 monthly for downloads. Each month with downloads would cost £40 per site. I understand piracy is a problem but in today's market are the companies over pricing so like myself losing the month to month subscribers to turn into subbing once in a while.

I don't want to name them as my post is about the pricing aspect. While sadly is the case that most people who watch porn don't pay for it the people who do subscribe do they get value for money. The two sites are very good for my tastes but can't justify the amount per month to keep them so is a one month deal for me once/twice a year.
Just wondered if people think are they getting value for money. Less scenes for less money so there is less filler would be better imo. Also would it be an idea for sites that do only monthly or yearly subs to have an extra option of buying individual scenes as well?

What qualifies the monthly fees as "over pricing"? Surely you understand that piracy is a key reason why pricing may be hiked? A CFO or bean counter has to be kept happy so if a website only has so many subscribers, a higher price may have to be set to cover the costs of hosting and maintenance and generate enough margin to invest in keeping the site fresh with new content and keeping stakeholders satisified.
Can you demonstrate that website X is generating an obscene margin from its fees or are you simply conflating "over pricing" with you not considering the fee to be worth it or you not being able to afford it?

-raise membership access fees to $39.99-$49.95 a month
-streaming only (L1 DRM)
-prosecute pirates

offering unprotected flat rate unlimited HD/4K downloads didn't work
offering $99 a year deals didn't work
offering $10 a month deals didn't work
having content partner accounts on tube sites didn't work
asking pirates to join your affiliate program didn't work

it's time to turn porn back into a luxury that only those with deep pockets could afford. Stop appealing to the broke guy looking for the best bang for the buck.

The guys with the deep pockets and willingness to spend aren't subscribing to pay sites anyway. They're showering models with money directly on cam sites or Onlyfans, or spending in even less mentionable ways.

(Good luck with the "prosecute pirates" part of your strategy, BTW.)

Cost is an issue when I sign up for a site but I'm more interested in transparency. Gamma sites do a great job of stating what you get for your money. Cheapest option is streaming only but for a few dollars more, you get streaming and downloads.

Regardless of the cheapness of a streaming only service without the ability to download it's an hard pass. I can't guarantee how much bandwidth I'll have in the future, what ISPs will be in my area, etc., I tend to be a downloader/collector. All the sites out there that don't have that option? Instant pass, no further consideration, never will I join. If they all become that way, if DVDs are still an option I'll go back to purchasing DVDs.
