| Cloudburst Deactivated User 392 Posts 1/14 | I have probably hundreds of GB's of wasted space on my HD due to many porn scenes having 10, 15, even 20 minute long intros, interviews, or dumb plots before the action actually starts. Why do so many directors do this, and what is the point besides making the file you download that much larger? Do that many people (largely straight male viewers) really watch this crap? Unless it's something really interesting 95% of the time I skip straight to the blowjob or sex, I don't get it. Edited by - Cloudburst on Mar 28 2014 [Link] |

| Slector Member 655 Posts 2/14 | I taught myself on WLMM because I was in the same boat. I hated having to fast forward all the time. By editing all my porn I get just what I want. |
| TairyHesticles Member 809 Posts 6/13 | i hate it when a scene doesn't have a tease and the director mainly films genital closeups and fails to capture the whole beautiful body of the lady. since a decade it's all about the backside of a woman for gonzo directors. foucs on other parts is so short and it's such a shame if the woman has great tits or hips it's not shown during the scene. what a waste. |
| funjack Member 25 Posts 5/12 | Cloudburst, I used to not get it also. I mean why would you buy porn and then just watch at girls walking, dancing, stripping, talking, etc. You can watch that everywhere! That's why I used to buy those (4h) compilation DVD's, where they cut off all the "boring" stuff and go straight to the action. But now I don't see myself buying complications ever again (I even sought out the full version for most of the scenes on those DVD's I own). Those intros set the stage for the action to come, getting you into a state of anticipation. Also when the girls bodies are shown off you create a sort of mental picture in your mind. Later on in the scene when there are some close-up's you can fill in the blanks so to speak. And if for example the girl stated she likes doggy during an interview and later during the scene they prepare for doggy while she cracks a smile at the camera, that's just priceless. |
| LCF All-Star Member Non Prevalebunt! 10364 Posts 1/05 | I hate the Presentation I mean the star showing her body and stuff prior of a scene when the scene has no plot at all , I'd like to be able to skip it from the menu of the DVD. I really like DVDs with a plot no matter how dumb it adds to the scene especially when you relate all the vignettes of a DVD into a given plot , for example Lisa Ann's Black Out 2 took place in a jail it involves some spots of the jail an office , a shower , the infirmary and so on and although the scenes aren't strictly related between them it looks like a day in such Jail , it involves only interracial this time but could have been all white too. There was an intro for each scene but no teasing aside maybe Skin Diamond but she was half clothed and was playing a nurse not teasing directly the viewer then an emergency occurred I liked that, a lot Edited by - LCF on 3/29/2014 10:34:02 AM |

| jayo All-Star Member 2117 Posts 7/04 | I would be inclined to agree with you except that I've found very little porn that's "erotic" to me in that sense. I do like something more than just the zipless fuck. But almost nobody does the stuff I find interesting, or it's just not the cocktail that works for me. Trimming fat ends up making a better steak. |

| jayo All-Star Member 2117 Posts 7/04 | I've used free or trial versions of various things with middling results. WMM does work once you get the hang of it, but "getting the hang of it" is the hard part of learning most software. But I agree with the others--give it a shot and see if you can make it work for you. If not, try download.com or Tucows or wherever you go for freeware/cheap shareware, and look for highly-rated video editors with a trial period. You should be able to find something you'd like. |

| pat362 Senior Member 10083 Posts 3/10 | 1-Lack of originality from modern porn producers means that since they aren't sure what to add or remove from a scene than they put as much as possible in the hopes that they hit the target often enough to satisfy the majority of porn fans. I suspect that if it wasn't for modern technology than that would not be possible because we can now skip over the parts we don't like and therefore most people go to the parts they want as opposed to watch all the scene. 2-Money is the other reason since porn is now filmed with digital cameras so producers don't have to worry about the cost of film print. That means that a 40 minute scene doesn't cost them more than a 20 minute scene and the bonus is that they don't have to pay anyone to edit the scene down. Cost of transfer to dvd may be a little higher but only if they have too many long scenes requiring more than one dvd. Mind you sell price is higher when they have more than one dvd so producers make more money. Edited by - pat362 on 3/30/2014 11:36:03 AM |
| jayo All-Star Member 2117 Posts 7/04 | 1. open the video you want to edit in the timeline. 2. Select the place where you to cut it. Think of it being like a long roll of film, and you're going to make various snips between the frames. The length of film between snips is usually called a Clip (Windows may have a different name for it, but Clip sounds right). 3. Delete the parts between snips that you don't want. That's usually a matter of clicking on the clip to make it active, and then hitting the delete button. 4. Play the movie to make sure it looks the way you want. 5. Export it as your new movie (i.e. reassemble and save it). If you want to do more fancy things, like edit the sound separately, add effects between clips, and so on, that takes more effort. But I would guess you would have the basics down pat in half an hour. I can relate--I don't have much patience for learning new software anymore unless it's something I'm really excited about, and that's rare. But I can (and do) basic editing and it's easy. Most video editors I've seen work on the same basic principle I outlined above. It's just getting used to the interface and finding the commands to do it. You might check around--there ought to be some YouTube tutorials on how to do exactly what you're after (except they'll use family vacation videos intead of porn as their samples). | LCF All-Star Member Non Prevalebunt! 10364 Posts 1/05 | Any editing of audio and video demand a lot of power but it depends on what you want from it , dual core computers have less issues especially 64 bit ones. But, again, it depends on what you want to do. Linux Mint have lots of software for the editing , Linux 64 Studio is especially designed for the editing containing Cinelerra the most advanced software for editing video available on Linux but it's not user friendly , there's also Openshot but I never used it so far. Avidemux is a free editor but works especially for converting files , can cut parts of a movie and can also add some, there's a windows version of it. it's free I use a mix of everything including two non free programs for windows such as Easy DVD creator and AVS Video converter , but they are old versions |
| ninja1 Senior Member 2939 Posts 1/08 | And as LCF pointed out, it depends on the specs of the computer. If you have a high-power 64-bit computer with fast multiple-core processor, then possibly this whole area of discussion is immaterial. Edited by - ninja1 on 3/30/2014 3:34:43 PM |
| jayo All-Star Member 2117 Posts 7/04 | I've done simple video editing on various computers, and I've never owned a screaming system. You just have to be patient. |
| mharris127 Senior Member 1844 Posts 8/09 | Also, I have heard that editing digital video requires more power (i. e. RAM, processor, power block) than most uses. Plan to pay $600-$700 or so for a computer with 8GB RAM, Intel i3 or i5 dual or quad core processor (preferably the latter, i7 is more powerful yet but costs more and probably unnecessary) and a very large hard drive (one TB minimum, two TB would be nice) with the extra drive bay to install a second hard drive as the first fills up with videos. Dell's business computer site had some in that price range when I looked last night (Dell Computer Sales Site). My elderly mother has a Dell and it has served her well for over three years now. She bought a kit including keyboard, mouse and monitor (nice monitor as well, it has a 23 inch screen) but the price I quote is just for a computer. A monitor is about $100-$250 depending on the size. A keyboard and mouse usually come with the computer. From what I can gather the specs quoted should work, you will have get advice on editing suites from someone else as I don't know enough about it to advise. | SxDoctor Member 103 Posts 10/06 | External hard drives are not expensive. I can't imagine someone being able to afford a porn site subscription and not being able to afford an external hard drive. I recently bought a 4TB drive for about $160. Depending on what kind of video files you are working with, there are programs which will trim videos quickly. Avidemux is a program I have used to cut commercials out of TV shows I have edited in mp4 or avi formats. Some formats are easy to manipulate. The stuff that takes more time and processing power is when you are transcoding to a different format instead of copying to the same format. |
| N00dlesDaddy Senior Member Layla...got me on my knees... 1793 Posts 7/13 | ![]() Porn scenes themselves go on way too long, though. Rarely have I watched a scene that hasn't outstayed its welcome. Usually about 10 minutes into the sex I'm getting twitchy, thinking "C'mon, get to the facials." Are men as a species really designed to have 45 minute wanks? |

| pringles All-Star Member 1351 Posts 2/08 | I use Machete. It's worth $19.95 for the full version. It's known as a splitter/joiner and processes files in seconds. Supports AVI, FLV, WMV, 3GP, MKV, MP4, MOV, WMA, MP3 and WAV formats. |
| LCF All-Star Member Non Prevalebunt! 10364 Posts 1/05 | To add there's a lite free version but its functions are limited to .avi and .wmv Now that you reminded me of Machete I'll try to use it on linux through Wine one of these daysI do that during actual sex I can last way more than 45 minutes although I limit myself to around twenty , I didn't even know this thing had a name , I begun early because in my naivety I thought a man MUST cum concurrently with his woman , So I tried to resist and stay in control of that thing to be able to match her , of course with no or little effectiveness. I do many things to stop stimulating or stimulating less the parts that lead to orgasm , I stop thrusting pushing inside or begin to rotate my dick or both , I slow down while stimulating her clit , sometimes I pull out and push my dick over her clit moving it up and down without penetrate her , this way I keep stimulating my dick but not enough to get an orgasm , such teasing is good for her too. Since I'm close all the time I can actually cum when I want to. It's difficult to match her but I can be very close , I can decide or let her decide the way she wants me to do that , I can anticipate her or cum almost right after , or as close as possible to her, but usually I try to push her more than once if possible. When I masturbate I don't feel the need to keep wanking , still I need few minutes at least ten to 15 , I never arrive to the end of a scene. Based on my real experience I guess that to endure more you need to avoid the top of your dick for a while , but keep stimulating the body of it , something like the teasing I do.
