In addition to looking at the sex, I have also been starting to notice other things in alot of porn movies lately, such as the settings. I've noticed that alot of these porn scenes occur in beautiful elaborate mansions (and yes, I'm referring to hardcore gonzo movies). Yet, I have to wonder who these gorgeous houses belong to. Does anyone happen to know if the producers/directors just rent these houses to shoot their movies, or they actually own them themselves. I know that porn is a multi-million dollar industry, but some of these houses look better than the ones where legitimate mainstream actors live. Are these directors doing that good that they can afford to own houses like these? I read on another post that the studios/directors have to pay for location shoots, which seems to imply that they are renting these places and do not actually live in them. But if this is true, why would a studio or director go through the trouble of paying money to rent a glamorous mansion just to do a porn shoot when a scene can be shot just about anywhere, including in a cheap motel room? I am just curious about this. Sometimes I find myself being more impressed with the house where the sex is taking place than with the actual sex itself. I would just like to know if the directors/producers just rent these huge beautiful houses for the scene, or if they actually own and live in them.
