I've recently found something I've never seen before in a porn film, a segment shot in what is obviously a child's bedroom. It's in "Rocco Meats the Princess", during the second main scene, when a brunette named Tanya and Rocco enter a bedroom for a brief POV tryst.

Here's two screenshots from the movie -

and

I was able to make out the bunk bed, a couple of large stuffed animals, a darkboard, a small rocking horse, a girl's doll, and a mini-trampoline. Now, they didn't start rummaging through the toys, or use the bunk bed; the only thing they use in the room is a chair.

I can't recall ever seeing something like this in a porn film, and I found it sort of off-putting. I can remember seeing just about every other room in a house used for shooting a scene, like kitchens, bathrooms, garages, balconies, adult bedrooms, dining rooms, and so on.

Is using a child's room more common than I've thought, or is it rare? I guess I've simply assumed that porn directors from major studios stay away from anything obviously related to children. Of course, I'm not talking about scenes where a 18 year old actress is dressed like a schoolgirl, and is told to act like a little girl, and I'm not talking about porn from some obscure Internet site, but movies from the better known American or European studios.

It may be a first. I doesn't really bother me though.

I wonder why Max Hardcore didn't come up with this idea ;-)

I don't think it's a first, Renee, as I have seen a few examples over the years. As for the room in question, I've seen quite a number of scenes shot in the house (in Prague, I guess) illustrated in Renee's screenshots. More often I see that room in behind the scenes clips being used for make up or costume.

For another example, as I recall, there are scenes in Rocco's Initiations 3 in a kid's room too, in the house used in scenes for e.g. the Sylvia Sun scene in Animal Trainer 4.

As Ramsey alluded, Max Hardcore has been doing something like this for years. In many of his titles, he utilized various props such as dolls, teddy bears, crayons, coloring books, etc. to give an underage feel to the scenes - and thats besides using the females in his productions to look and act younger than they were.

Like I said in my first post, I'm not referring to people like Max Hardcore who use toys and schoolgirl costumes as props.

What's in the Rocco scene aren't props - that's a bedroom and toys that belong to a real child. Besides, there was no apparent reason why they had to use that particular room. The house, which was in Prague, was large enough to have a billiard room (used for one scene) and a small indoor pool or hot tub, I couldn't tell which.

I've seen it before in classics in the VCA library. I can't recall any examples offhand. The scene was shot not as a psuedo-pedophilia; it was just the room they shot in.

As Gabriel Nine pointed out, this house is close to Prague and quite frequently used for porn. You can see this room in many BTS sequences because we mostly use this room for make up. (Check out the BTS of Cum Guzzlers)

Mother and child are always gone when we shoot.

Hopefully, the child won't be watching porn with his/her buddies in 20 years and see stuffyfluffyrainbowbear in a 'classic' 2004 title.

I don't consider that over the line. I just see an empty room.

Now if someone filmed in my friend's basement that would be eerie. It's filled with clown dolls.

I once had a girlfriend who at age 21 still lived in her mother's house. She shared a room with her 20 year old sister and they slept in bunk beds. She also had a collection of fluffy toy animals scattered around the room.

There were no age play aspects about it at all. That was just how she lived.

There was no rocking horse, and the room was much smaller, but otherwise your two images reminded me of that time.

The backgrounds of porn sets are part of the experience. People respond particularly well to images that remind them of places where they experienced their earliest feelings of sexual arousal. I imagine that is why a lot of scenes are set in school classrooms. With that in mind, I feel sure that this particular set will strike a chord with some viewers.

Renee, if this particular background makes you feel uneasy, I respectfully suggest that you are being a little too sensitive. What harm do you imagine could come from it?

Licker, I'll tell what my reaction was, 3 seconds after they entered that bedroom:

JESUS CHRIST, THAT COULD BE MY NIECES' BEDROOM! THEY'RE N0T GOING TO SHOOT IN THERE, ARE THEY? WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY THINKING?

Hey, that was my gut reaction. And if what Steve Holmes says is correct, this is a real child's bedroom, not a room in a house that is no longer occupied by a family, nor a room occupied by a 20 year old. I don't have much of a problem with the room being used for Makeup or changing, but for a sex scene, no.

Am I being too sensitive? From my perspective, no. Besides, if you look around at this forum, you'll see just in the past week, thread's entitled "Why are women treated so poorly in porn now" and "Gagging, How can people watch that garbage" and "Scenes featuring guys with wood problems" (in which fans haven't hesitated to name guys with said afflictions).

Frankly, I'm surprised how many people have read this bedroom thread, it's only a day old.

Everyone has their own turn-ons and limits and you shouldn't be judged for it (you freak! I'm referring to your post-sex knitting habit )

This scene triggered a reaction from you and I'm sure there are other people that felt awkward or turned off. You're justfied in your opinion and reaction, just turn off the video or press fast forward.

I wouldnt be surprised if Rocco suspected it would raise some eybrows, and possibly even hoped to impart a subtle sense of innocence being violated.
Relating ofcourse, to the girl pictured, who at no time during the scene even remotely resembled one of Max's twisted makeup acts, but more charactaristic of a naive maiden, well ripened for the taking.

We'll assume Rocco sprang for the steam cleaning.

I'm with Renee on this as far as sensitivity goes. My gut reaction was the same when I saw the stills. To be honest, the fact that it is some kid's room creeps me out. The decor either supports the heat of a scene or detracts from the heat of a scene, for me personally, this one detracts.

gotta agree with that ,especially in that kid's room.A kid shouldn't have to sit in a dried gob of some clown's jizz.

I don't think porn and a child's room mix. If I were renting my house to shoot porn, the kids room would be off limits. By filming in it, unwanted subconscious connections are made, even though it's not being used to film the sex scenes.

Tsk, tsk! For all you overly sensitive types there are movies and then there is real life...if they used the kids bedroom in the movie as some kind of fantasy thing, why not? I mean, my kids invade our bed and bedroom all the time (we have the best DVD player and TV). So to get a bit of privacy on occasion, well, their bedroom doors have locks too...as long as there is no wet spot left behind!

O.K. From that description, it sounds like you were horrified, not "uneasy" as I suggested. I realise that this is a gut reaction, and that emotions can not necessarily be explained with logic, but ... can you help me understand?
I already asked, but what harm can you see coming from this? If it's a worry that the children might step on a wet patch later, couldn't this happen just as easily in the living room?

your posts suggest that you would not be concerned if this was a set in a studio with identical appearance. Am I interpreting that correctly?

Is it an "invasion of personal territory" thing?

O.K. So its not a "personal territory" thing, since its permissible to use the room for other purposes.

Are you worried that one of the children's friends might recognise the room on screen? I would assume they could not legally watch the movie when it is released.

Apologies if the question irritated you. All I saw was the two screenshots and your comments, and my "gut reaction" was "Strewth! Political correctness is getting utterly out of control." That may well be an inappropriate reaction to your concerns, so I will not even attempt to defend it.

What I would genuinely like to know, if possible, is the reason(s) for your strong emotional response that I quoted at the top of this post.

I'll have to side with Renee on this one.

If it was just a movie set I'd still find it inappropriate.
But if it's an actual kids bedroom?!? Yikes.

Overly sensitive? Could be, but then my avatar is a pussy.

To respond to some of the other posts -
Did they clean up the semen and spit that they left dripping on the kid's chair and the carpeting? I wasn't able to tell.
It wasn't like this bedroom was needed as part of some plotline. At that point in the movie, it was straightforward gonzo stuff, with Rocco walking through the house, finding first one willing woman, then this Tanya.
That's basically it; if it were a studio set, I wouldn't be as bothered. It does matter to me that it was a child's bedroom, with his/her toys scattered about.

Licker, I don't know exactly how to explain my strong reaction to you in words. I'm not certain how much time you spend around young children, but from spending time with my nieces, I'm simply more sensitized about what's appropriate or not for kids, probably much more than I would be if those kids weren't in my life.

For what it's worth, I didn't randomly pick out this movie. I read the one thread about this film that was running back in Sept, and even asked if it was on the rough side, or more like one of Rocco's Initiations movie. There's only one brief review of it, and neither that nor the thread mentioned anything the bedroom scene. I checked out the boxcover on the Evil Angel site, and that also shows no photo stills from the bedroom.

Now, if this were some Rocco/Kelly Stafford film, I would expect there to be some shocking stuff in it. But honestly, I wasn't expecting anything like this POV scene, and after I watched it, my enthusiasm for the rest of the movie went downhill.

I don't have any children of my own, and in today's social climate it is prudent for a single man to avoid all contact with children, so effectively, I know nothing at all about them. I am approaching this question from a position of open-minded ignorance.

I guess I'm somewhat gobsmacked by the storm of horrified shock here. The majority appears to feel the same as you do, Renee, but no one seems to be able to say why something is inappropriate or what harm is being done.

I'll take a shot at it. A child represents innocence. Shooting adult material in their bedroom disrespects that innocence. If seen in a porn flick, it can be subconsciously construed. You have naked women, sexuality and child images all together. That creates an unsavory association. Advertisers use this tactic all the time.

In the States, they will have sexy images together with their product. Cigarettes are a prime example. Often, advertising will create a sexual imagery around smoking. It serves to create the illusion that smoking is sexually charged. In reality, your just inhaling the smoke of burning leaves. But the strategy works and that's why advertisers use it continuously.

So, I hope I've made a sensible point in that the mere joining of sexuality coupled with a childs room seems to link them and is considered inappropriate. It's just the way the human mind tends to work.

Thanks cochise
Your point makes sense and I see that some people would have that reaction to it.

I don't think this is what is bothering Renee, because she says it would be o.k. by her to duplicate the environment on a studio set. If the concern was purely that of linking the two images, then doing it on a studio set would also be wrong.

I guess also that I personally don't buy into the "innocence is good" concept very much. To my way of thinking, innocence in that sense is just a mix of incompetence and ignorance. Sure it's cute, like kittens are cute, but the main purpose of being a kitten is to learn how to be a cat.

We could keep people innocent for their whole lives by never letting them go to school, have friends or have a job, but I don't think they would be better people as a result.

Sorry, that's off topic, but I mentioned it just to explain why I personally didn't have the reaction you described.

I think that if you had a child, you're view of innocence would change. Most don't really think of children as ignorant and incompetent. They're just children and their enthusiasm, naivity and lack of cynicism make them welcome and refreshing to me. There's something special about the little ones.

I don't believe you can keep one "innocent" by doing all the things you say. The "innocence" of a child is unique to little children.

If that was my home, I would have my child's bedroom strictly off limits. Even though it was probably just poor judgment on their part, it's still kinda creepy, especially since it was just a gonzo scene that had nothing to do with a story. Perhaps if they were playing parents or something it would be different, but even then the only toys I wanna see in my porn are Doc Johnson's

I walked in on my parents fucking when I was like, two, or something, so let's not automatically assume we're subverting some child's "innocence" who may or may not already be fully aware of what goes where and why and how and really has no problem with it.

licker,

Perhaps you're looking for a fully thought-out answer from me, to what was, I will fully admit, a strong emotional response to that scene from myself.

Perhaps an analogy would help clarify things. More than once, guys on this forum have said quite vigorously that they don't want to watch female-on-male strap-on scenes. Are they expressing their opinions based on some well-reasoned, logical framework that they've meticulously pieced together? Or is it based on some rather deep-rooted feelings they have about these sexual encounters, which show a man being penetrated anally? It seems to make no difference to these guys that the men in these scenes enjoy what they're doing, may well do it in their private lives, and that it's all consensual behavior between adults. Whatever the reasons, I respect that some fans don't want to watch these movies.

Myself, I don't want to watch scenes shot in a child's room (or on a playground, or at day care center, or the like).

Thanks Renee, I think that does help.

I guess I was hoping for the "fully thought-out answer", but if your feelings are entirely instinctive then that answer doesn't exist.

I guess the analogy from my point of view would be rough sex scenes. Even if you conclusively proved to me that the performers loved to get slapped in the face and it gave them the best orgasms, that still would not make me enjoy the movie.

My instinctive reaction to dislike what I saw would overcome any logic, and I wouldn't be able to explain it either.

Thanks for your patience.
