Totally disagree enforcing girls to be 21 when entering porn. So you can kill people at 18 in the military but can't do porn? What is this? Typical American prudeness ? Aren't teen girls the most popular in porn? Like Alex Grey, Lana Rhoades, Bailey Brooke, Jillian Janson and other teen girls now and in the past. They are smart and know exactly what they do. It's just pure hypocracy. Jealous women of older age who can't stand the young girls.
^ I'm not convinced a 21 year old age limit is appropriate either, but there's no reason to assume Richelle is motivated by jealousy. For one, she's smoking hot so what does she have to be jealous about? For another, guys like Sean Michaels are in favor of it too. Is he for it because he's jealous of younger girls (which would be nonsensical) or because it's his considered opinion? If you agree Sean can have be in favor of it because he has thought through the issue, the same can be said of any female performer who is in favor it as well. No need to impugn their motives like that.
OK, just to make clear I have nothing against Richelle Ryan (although I prefer girls like Alex Grey) or the interview (The Captain did a great job again), but just the idea of girls needing to be 21 to enter porn. It surfaces from time to time and it's just so irritating. When you are 18, you are grown up and you can make your own choices. Maybe some are good and some are bad, but you'll learn from it. The 21 year age limit makes sense, although it will never happen. It's protecting girls from themselves. It's a hard business. For every Jillian Janson that is successful, there are 100 that wash out after 1 or two scenes and it affects the rest of their life.
^ Disagree that 21 year age restriction just for porn makes sense. Like Janice Griffith recently said on twitter "the entire world is toxic and preys on women and the porn industry is just a part of the world". Forbidding 18 year old adults to enter porn is more of a limitation of freedom than protection imo.
Right, forbidding girls to do porn before 21 doesn't make sense. What really makes sense, is a good agent and guidance for girls to make a great porn career. Agencies like Spiegler will make a difference.
^The NBA has a rule that players can not enter the league until one year after their high school class has graduated. (They are talking about upping it to two years). The NFL has a rule that a player has to be 3 years out of high school. There is no big clamor that those leagues are hampering personal freedoms.
^ I'm sure those rules were debated before adoption and if someone today proposed to increase the NBA's high school embargo from one year to four it would be hotly debated now. A twenty-one age rule would be a big shift in the industry status quo and everyone is going to have strong opinions on it.
^ Transitioning, or phasing in a new age 21 requirement could prove problematic, at least initially. For instance, in a transition process that allows for current under 21 performers to remain in the Adult Industry, while barring new ones in the age 18 - 20 bracket, could there be some reverse incentive to stay in porn, in order to avoid having to wait to re-up because of retiring at 19, just as an example? Perhaps a separate thread should be started on this, as this debate has become rather lively! :)

I feel like the 21 vs. 18 year debate is a tempest in a teapot but I do agree that it seems absurd to let people sign up to get their heads blown off overseas but not get blown or blow someone on camera at the same age. That said, I'm not really a teeny fan so it would make not really impact on me if the age limit changed. I find it odd that so many states prevent people from drinking, supposedly, until their 21.

Yes, there was. In fact, Maurice Clarett sued the NFL to allow him to enter the league early and lost. No one talks about it because the cases have already been taken to court, and the courts have said that the leagues are free to do whatever they want in terms of allowing entry.
