The new big thing these days is for porn girls to start their own website. Years ago they were few, now it seems as work slows girls are rushing to throw up their websites. I have been doing lots of research on websites over the years and have seen a lot of the same stuff being done. I would like to know what do you as the "fan" or "member" want to see and get out of a Porn Star website.

The number one thing is that you have to fill your site with exclusive content.
Leasing any of your old material as filler is all right but it should be 20% lease and 80% exclusive. why would anyone join a site that offers content they can get/got elsewhere. Do stuff that you haven't done elsewhere. That can mean almost anything but anal, IR, DP's lesbian are some good suggestion.
Update regularly: That means a minimum of 2 new updates each week. Make sure that you have pics: not all fans enjoy videos. many collect pic sets. Be sure to intereact with your fans. If you tour then mention which cities you will be in and the dates(if you want fans to flock to that location). Have good servers so that fans don't complain about download and surfing speed on your site. If you offer pics and videos then make sure they can be downloaded as a complete file and not in small sections. The small files take less time to download and probably less server power but no one likes to watch porn in 5 little scenes.
I joined quite a few pornstar sites when I firt started surfing the net and I can honestly say that each and everyone of them did none of the above and I felt cheated out of all of them.

This business of porn lacks a decent blog.
Christian XXX did it best in 2008.
All I've found is either self promotion or juvenile "text speak".
Have no idea how much profit Christian made off his blog. Had he
continued he would certainly have become the blog king of the industry.

I personally don't get the website thing, it seems like a dumb investment to me, If like a certain pornstar, I just buy her DVDs because it's a permanant thing, rather than having to pay $30 a month to have to watch the content on my computer when I'd rather see it on my TV, but thats just me.

Pornstars motivations are not the same and are not in accordance with fans and viewers most of the time. I think that most sites are money making machines, but few succeed that way. Most of the pornstars (and their managers) don't care about fans. They just care about doing money fast.
Some years ago, I tried a few websites managed by pornstars. Most of the time, I had the feeling I spent $ 30 for nothing. For example, i subscribed to Aurora Snow's website. it appears it was managed by someone. I felt Aurora was nowhere around, but there were exclusive picsand vids and pics too that I could see elsewhere on the WWW. It was not a good experince. Aurora was not around and was not involved in those activities even though it was her official website. I thought that a person like Aurora would create a website similar to who she is as a pornstar. Now she has created another one that she probably manages closely, but I have wasted money once, so i won't do it again.
It takes honesty, a willing desire to connect with fans and to be innovative. As Pat said, a lot of content should be exclusive, nothing predictable from week to week. Updates are a must (one at least per week; two is best). A decent blog would be a big plus. I dream of reading someone's like I do when I read messages from the Internet girlfriend (another example of a nice and decent person who is really willing to get in touch with her fans).
DVDs are better, but Kacy, maybe you could succeed with the right formula.

Here are a few good sites : Bella Donna's one and Annette Schwarz'one too. Both have kept theirs for a certain time and have a lot of material.And we clearly know what we get into. There is no gimmick.

A good porn star website includes unique and exclusive content. Movies and movies and movies and more movies are a must. I've seen some really crappy porn star sites out there that try and launch a site around 14 scenes. I was like wow, really??????? Are you kidding me!! Those porn stars who try and do stuff like that learn the hard way that money in websites isn't about the join, it's about the renewals. That is where all the big money is at.
Personal information that isn't already out there just everywhere. Your members should be able to get up close and personal with you. Maybe if your favorite color is pink, your room is all pink, tell them about it and show pictures of it.
A good website includes lots of behind the scenes kind of stuff. What is life really like with you? What's life really like on the set? Any fun pictures of you and your girlfriends out?
A good website will most surely include live cam shows.
You also want to keep a diary / blog.
Tons of photos. When you think you have enough, get 1,500 more.
Maybe hire a programmer and make a fun little game. On my porn star fan sites I like to create things like blackjack but all the card faces feature the porn star. Or one site years ago I did a memory game where you had to match sets of cards, which were movies the porn star had been in and in the end if you match all the sets you get a hot picture of her.
You should have a Q and A section where your fans can ask you questions and you answer them on your website for all to see. As sort of a way for them to get to know you better.
During holidays take holiday themed photo sets.
Send out holiday themed ecards to your members.
Send birthday ecards to your members that feature you in the design of the ecard.
