I was just reading the Astroknight interview with Monica Sweetheart and was surprised to read that she never gets recognized in daily life.

Do any of the performers here get recognized out in daily life? Is there a particular place you get recognized more than others? A particular city? Particular country? Particular place of business?

I ask this question often when i am interviewing a performer and surprisingly a lot of them don't get noticed in public.

Which if you think about it, is easy to understand. Its not like they go out in thongs, stripper heels and sexy make up and their hair all done nicely. They are just everyday girls outside of thwe business.

I guess most people when watching porn are not usually looking at the faces.

In the BTS footage I've seen with them without makeup or getting it applied, I'm always amazed at just how young they seem to look.

I think there is a thread or two around about this, if you do a search.

But without the make-up, fishnets, and dripping gape people often don't recognize them - it is entirely out of context.

Sometimes I don't recognize big time actors when I meet them in public. The screen/TV version is often much different than real life. Especially without the make-up and attire. Plus there's the height issue - many actors are either taller or shorter than what you perceive from film or TV. With porn performers, I'd say you'll need to be especially unique looking in some way. Some famous people you just know who they are, no matter how hard they try and avoid being recognized. I once met Asia Carrera in a Pep Boys. She was standing next to me looking through electronic hardware items. At first glance I knew who it was. For one thing she was all dolled up. I later read on her website how she did a photo shoot and then went shopping for cool lighting modifications for her computer. It was definitely her.

How do you know if someone recognises you...UNLESS they call out your name or speak to you?
Most fans are afraid to talk to you in public, or you are with someone and the fan watches from afar but is nice enough to respect your privacy so he just stares like a stalker...but thats ok with me....look dont talk to me unless I am at a pornstar event where I am here to speak to the fans anyway. Its kinda like when EMINEM got mad cause he would take his daughter out to mcdonalds and people would follow him into the restroom to get an autograph. see fans are great and we love them....but just because we are celebrities doesnt mean we give up the right to ANY kind of life...so I can only speak for my fans...and to that I say if I have been noticed ...they all have respected me....and I love that.

i get recognized a lot. i think mostly because of how popular i am on myspace.
sometimes people say hi or wave at me or ask me if im me. and sometimes people write me emails saying they saw me at so and so place.
which is pretty weird for me. i'd rather people just say hi or something.

I think you make a great point here, Rayveness. I'll doubt very seriously that if 'Joe Average' is walking down the street with his girlfriend or wife that he's going to acknowledge knowing who Courtney Cummz (as an example) is if he sees her while with said girlfriend or wife. The amount of time being recognized is hard to measure.

By weird chance, I've seen Robert Downey Jr. 3 times in the past year. But you're right...I never say anything to him cuz I don't want to bother him.

They do get recognized. Many times when Ive been out with my clients we have had guys/girls just walk up and say hello, ask for an autograph or even just say they like such and such movie.

Theres one client that gets recognized each and every time I am with her and usually has 2-3 people walking up to her.

Good question!

I rarely have the, walk up and admit it, kind of recognition, but it does happen (oddly, more with male celebrities).
I get the, eye contact, knowing look, kind of recognition, usually followed with an email within 24 hours of the event.
I must say that I prefer the latter. As I'm very shy in public, I find it a more respectful acknowledgement.

OMG! Tina Tyler is back! When did this happen?

I've been walked-up-to recognized once. Actually, it was ran across the parking lot yelling recognized, and it made my day/life. I signed his bowling shirt. I still love that guy. Mike, I'll never forget you.

I get recognized a lot...specially when I'm off the meds and walking down the street naked...I'm very recognizable from the waist down :)
