I guessing that you have seen most of the people that you have listed at places other than typical porn stars. Most of the people that you have listed have other things going on that would make them more acceptable to do signings at non-porn stores that also carry porn, like a Virgin Megastore or Tower Records.

The problem is that the adult retail business in NYC has been almost entirely taken over by recent immigrants who aren't willing or able to communicate well with their customers. They aren't necessarily knowledgeable about what they're selling -- to them it could be soap, umbrellas, whatever. Some of these stores are selling dupes as new product -- that says alot about what they think of their "customers". Many of these guys would probably laugh at the idea of a star visiting the store even though the customers would appreciate it. Bottom line: they're only concerned with turning over product and not that concerned with quality, customer service, etc.

I should add that the demise back in the mid/late 90s of the Triple Treat Theater at Show World Center in NYC deprived porn stars and their fans of a major appearance venue. The Triple Treat had a different star every week for I don't know how many years. I picked up on it in the early nineties but it'd probably been going on for many years before that. It was the best place to see stars in NYC.

And while some of these shops are predominantly held by immigrants, their knowledge of recent porn films and actresses/actors has impressed me dramatically. Some shop owners and employees know their business, but like you said some do not.

Out of all the girls I mentioned I met in NYC Ashley Blue & Tera were the only ones that did the signings at the porn shops on eighth avenue. Even when I ask some of the people that held this event, they always say that porn stars never come to NYC. The rest were held at Virgin. I will even take more Virgin appearances. The question is why don't these girls/production companies make more efforts. The two signings in porn shops were very successful, so why not do more of it!
