I'm a porn fan, and I'm probably not just speaking for myself when I say that it somehow adds to the taboo and titillation to know the girl you're watching getting gangbanged or bukkaked is also a member of one of "straight" society's most hallowed institutions. It somehow makes it more naughty. Movie stars or rock stars keep their relationships private sometimes if their icon status is big enough, if they are symbols of an ideal tyhe fans desire. There are no "icons" in porn, as far as I can see. The business of porn, it seems to me, is the gleeful offering of yourself up as pure product. No romantic allusions, no granduer of celebrity.
