I searched around a bit but couldn't see really a thread that covered this in great detail so I thought it might be an intesting one. I am mainly into Japanese AVs and several women getting into it in Japan were famous, some in a small way, others much more so by being singers, models, TV celebs etc. I noticed Esperanza Gomez was a Playboy playmate and now seems to be giving porn a go! WOW great news. My question is has there been any other western or from any other country really that were famous in some way before doing porn. look forward to any relpies. [Link]

It's not much, but it focuses solely on actors/actresses (most of them are guys anyway) and not on other forms of celebrity. I suspect that list is pretty short as well. Terri Weigel, who was already mentioned by another poster, is the only legitimate candidate I know of. Karen Schubert used to be a fairly well-known hardcore star of the 'Mature' category in Europe, and she did some legitimate pre-porn acting but was by no means 'famous' (although she did appear with actors who were. Bio. There have been a few cases with the order reversed (porn first, 'celebrity' later), which seems like a more likely sequence of events. I would love to check out some of those movies. With regards to mainstream US actresses, models, etc. I don't think you'll see more than one or two, even C or D-list, make the crossover to full HC unless there are severe addiction and/or money problems. Kelli McCarty, Teri Weigel, Laci Andrews, etc, were all doing SC work before they made the jump to HC. I just don't see anyone with any type of mainstream celebrity status making a direct jump to HC. She wasn't famous in the sense that everyone knew her name, but as the face of a major corporate product, her visage was pretty well known. Kind of like the Marlboro Man, assuming he had eventually gone on to appear in some Western-themed gonzo affair ("POV Heifers"?) before his unfortunate death from smoking-related illness. [Link]

Click to expand These days PENTHOUSE is basically MAXIM with nude pornstars who don't really mention that they're in porn. Porn girls have not only taken over PENTHOUSE but also the softcore movies play on late night cable. Once "Scream Queens" like Shannon Tweed, Julie Strain, and Tane McClure mostly starred in those movies but nowadays it's mostly porn girls. The porn girls tend to go a bit further with their scenes but I miss the "Scream Queens". The fact that the women weren't pornstars and went as far as they did was kinda sexy. When watching the pornstars I just keep thinking "this is nothing compared to what I've seen them do..." [Link]

I just skip over all the porn star scenes in hopes they slipped a non-porn star in there. I like seeing an actress go from regular roles to these soft core ones. But porn stars being in them seems like such a waste when you can see much better stuff from them in hardcore. [Link]

I was thinking of young and older actresses who are struggling in Hollywood - i.e. ex-soap actors, etc. who are living from paycheck to paycheck. This is the talent that companies should be going for but it does take alot of money to get them to put their name on a contract when the crossover is this dramatic. [Link]

Well, if you don't know his name in particular, you may have heard of the band in which he played bass guitar for many years, called Biohazard. In the realm of heavy music, they were actually pretty big. Anyway, those of you who do know his name likely know that he married porn superstar Tera Patrick a while back. Since then, he has performed in scenes with his wife, as well as having his own porn site, Rock Star Pimp. You may think it's kinda crappy given it's some ex-rock star's site, but don't be fooled: he gets primo porn girls (Teagan Presley, Jenna Haze...), and he fucks them good & hard. Even girls used to heavier scenes, like Dana DeArmond for example, have said that he's quite good with the rough stuff.
