We've got dozens of products containing benzocaine at my work, marketed as delay creams, desensitizers, deep-throat aids, and anal sex creams. It's just an oral anesthetic, the same ingredient you'll find in tooth-ache gels and sore throat sprays. It can be safely absorbed into mucus membranes, so I wouldn't worry about this product if benzocaine is its active ingredient. Just know that it's no substitute for adequate preparation of the anus prior to sex. System JO also makes a warming silicone with peppermint and capsium (the compound in chili peppers). That one can be used as a lube or a massage oil. It's awesome. As an added benefit, if you have old tattoos, rub some in and it will revitalize the colors and sharpen the outlines. Even old yellow ink pops right back out. Cool stuff. You and the missus should try their flavored lubes too. They're the best tasting on the market, IMO. The watermelon tastes like a slice of fresh watermelon (not like a Jolly Rancher), the lemon tastes like the sweet interior of a lemonhead, and the tangerine dream tastes like a Creamsicle. The site I linked to listed the ingredients for the cherry flavor on all the flavored lubes, so don't be thrown off by that. The reason I like the System JO line is that they use pharmaceutical grade ingredients, and their ingredient lists are short. One more thing I like from them is their clitoral stimulation gel in the "Wild" formula. It has peppermint, menthol and capsium in it, it smells great, and according to my husband, it has a pleasant taste. Unlike stimulation gels that contain L-Argine, it's not acidic.
