I put on a DVD from a few years ago and say Hayley Page was in the scene, I had to skip straight past it and looked away from the screen. I find if I know a porn star has passed away I just can't watch that scene. Do you find it a problem or is this just me?

i love alot of classic/old school porn, where i'm sure some of the "stars" have passed; so this doesn't bother me at all.
i guess you could say i pay tribute to 'em, by shooting my load all over the screen.

I agree with the original poster. Personally, I find it both distasteful and not at all arousing to watch porn scenes where one or more of the actors is dead.

For me, it depends on the circumstances of the death. If it was something severely tragic that was influenced by the porn industry, ie. suicide, murder, etc., I find it uncomfortable to watch and usually skip through it. I do skip through Hailey Paiges' scenes now because of it. On the other hand, I do still enjoy Britney Madison's videos from time to time (she died in a car crash). If they enjoyed what they were doing while they were alive, I don't see it as a problem enjoying their work.

I love the classics. Unfortunately many of the classic actresses and actors have passed on, so no it doesn't bother me.

It depends with me. If I know how they died and it was a horrible death, than no I can't wtach them. I remember when I found out how Julie Robbins died and how bad it was, I couldn't watch her scene in Superwhores anymore.

I take back what I said...I can and have watched Shauna Grant after she died. But, she's a special exception, since she was the hottest woman to ever do porn.

The dynamic of a scene would be quite interesting when both performers are dead. And is that still necrophilia?

I really love Alex Jordan, may she rest in peace, and sometimes feel a bit guilty when pleasuring myself looking at those wonderful early 1990s lesbian scenes she did wearing her sexy white pumps and getting right into the groove. But, and at the risk of sounding cheesy or glib, enjoyment was what she wanted to bring to people, so I wouldn't feel too guilty about it, if anything it's a tribute to her beauty and wonderful vivacious nature. The same for Trinity Loren, I hope every second of her existence is blessed by peace, kindness, and glowing sunshine.

I also agree with Shauna Grant..I've rubbed one out to her plenty of times post death. For that matter, same with Hailey Paige..I guess I don't have a problem with it.

I can't do it either and it's a drag 'cause I really liked Haley Paige. Jasmine Grey is another girl who died tragically young, I don't think she did any hardcore but she did some still work and maybe a solo video for Promotions and I can't bring myself to indulge in either.

I guess its all in your perspective. I find nothing different between watching classic porn featuring deceased performers and watching classic movies featuring iconic actors and actresses who are now gone. I watch John Wayne, Henry Fonda and Katherine Hepburn without any problems and even look fondly on their achivements so why wouldn't I look at great pornstars in the same light?

I used to love Britney Madison, but can't watch her scenes anymore now that I know she's dead
I do enjoy classics. The only performers that I know about are Annie Sprinkle, who is alive and I love her films, and John Holmes, who is one of my least favorite performers.

I still masturbate to Haley Paige. Her hotness transcends death. As a matter of fact, the scene I watched was with her and Jon Dough. So put that in yr pipe and smoke it.

Nah i would never have that issue that would be like not being able to watch an old film with James Dean or John Wayne in it.

^I take it though, that you're not getting sexually aroused to the John Wayne or James Dean flicks whilst watching...(?)
Admiring someone's craft and wanting to fuck them are two different things... therein lies the contentious aspect of it all.

I dont have a problem if the performer is deceased. I can still enjoy a great scene that I may have originally watched when I was younger. Lisa Deleeuw in almost about anything. Trinity Loren, the first major star to do pregnant. Linda Lovelace incredible oral in Deep Throat. Their scenes will live on as long as the film or video they shot on lasts.

I think I've been a little hypocrite on this issue. If a star dies a horrible death I choose not to watch her anymore. And that brings me to Haley Paige and Anna Malle...even though both die in sad circumstances I don't watch my Haley Paige stuff ANYMORE but I still watch Anna Malle (very often). Maybe I'm biased toward Anna because she was a big favorite of mine a long time agai.

Like others, I put it the same as saying would I watch a Health Ledger movie or listen to Michael Jackson. I watch many older movies where I know most everyone involved with it is now dead. So why not watch dead stars in porn? It's not a big deal to me. Death is tragic, but not watching them anymore certainly doesn't honor them.

Suppose porn was being made 100 years ago. Then surely everyone in those flicks would be dead now. Would you therefore not allow yourself to watch them? Would you seek out more recent films, just to make sure the ppl in them are still alive?

If I find that someone has passed, I make one more pass through my collection of them then delete it. It would just be toooooo creepy watching/enjoying it knowing. In fact, I was just going through my Rachel Ashley collection yesterday and came across an old Suze set with Rachel and Shauna Grant. Didnt realize I still had it, didnt even bother to view again and just deleted it. To each his own but I am a deleter.

I guess for me it's that I get a bit nostalgic in watching the films of those who have passed. But since I don't feel as though I am doing something "bad" to them when they are alive by watching, I also don't feel as though there is anything "bad" about enjoying their body of work after they are gone.
As lame as it may sound, it is a bit of a tribute to watch and think good thoughts about them.
Their films are, indeed, a part of the mark that these people left on the world.

Killbill's post was the point I was trying to make.
I think it's just a case of how sensitive you are. Personally this doesn't bother me much, might shed some tears if it was really sentimental but otherwise unless you have some deep connection with the performer it is no different from watching someone like Marilyn Monroe in a normal film.

stephanie swift is fighting cancer. i recently noticed her name on some old releases in my collection. if i had met her personally, then i suppose her scenes may be less watchable. anna malle died and her scene in I Love Lesbians is still one of my favorites.

I think there is a difference between wackin it to a scene by someone who has died Vs. wackin it to a scene because they died.
Its the same w/ drugs and drink. If I read about someone who has said they were "impaired" during a scene it adds prospective.
But if I read that soemone was strung out and suporting there habit by doing a scene, then its different, I cant watch for the most part.

I have come to the notion that the visual art in porn is just like the visual art of watching any ole' actors former movies on AMC or Turner Classics.
They are long....gone. But, do I still watch....yea...sometimes and what I take from this is the craft of the work, the movie itself or any other factors.
Time means sometime during my lifetime actors pass.....same for porn stars. Some will go and come but it is the product and what they were doing that turned me on and makes me remember them for what they were on screen and scene.
In many ways I appreciate them more when I see them performing and knowing they are not with us.....its just their image frozen anyway.

Yeah, it does come down to personal sensibilities. Personally, it does play a play a large part in my porn viewing if I know that one or more of the performers are no alive... It does feel like it verges on necrophiliac tendencies in some aspects, because like it or not (not, in my case), the knowledge that at this present moment in time the hot bodies I'm wanking over, are inanimate bones and dust have an overriding aspect.
With mainstream films there's the performance which is timeless and for the ages, in porn (gonzo especially) there's only the physical; there's often very little we get from the performers' personalities, and they rarely say more than "Oh yeah, fuck me baby!" (not counting BTS), so what's left is just the carnal lust aspect.
Not saying it's wrong to jerk off to dead porn stars, after all, they made it to be enjoyed whenever. It's just something I have some problems with in my own viewing habits.

I think this statement sums up my stance. If the performer died in a tragic manner somehow linked to their decision to be in adult films (AIDS, murder, suicide) I have a problem with my lasting image of them being a sexual performance. On the other hand, if the cause of death was accidental or natural I tend to see a scorching scene as a part of the legacy they left.

I'll agree with this. I have a POV Pervert 5 which has great scenes with Harmony, Katin, Piper, and Penny Flame (as a bonus scene), but I have to skip around/avoid the Haley Paige scene for similar reasons to the ones that you mentioned, and I used to enjoy it fairly regularly. There's something just a little off-putting about masturbating to it now, especially after reading about her troubles and untimely end.

I can watch if it from a different era. Like 70s or 80s. But I wont watch if they've recently passed away. Like Britney Madison and Holly Landers.

I really don't get the distinction between jerking off to a vintage scene with a star who is still alive versus one who isn't.
It reminds me of something Dan Savage wrote in The Stranger shortly after Anna Nicole Smith died. He argued she could no longer be considered a suitable masturbation subject, because a fundamental aspect of such a fantasy was the hope that somehow, under the right circumstance, you could have sex with the object of your adoration. And if that person was dead, then that fantasy was unobtainable and therefore sick and weird.
Personally, I don't get this argument. I mean, you're fantasizing about an image on a screen, not an actual person. The state of their physical being at the time when you're watching their film is pretty irrelevant. The image remains ageless. The person does not.
I can think of all sorts of stars, porn and otherwise, who are still alive, that I had the hots for in my younger days that I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to hook up with at the present moment. Ursula Andress in the early 70's? Oh yeah. Ursula Andress now? Not so much.
Conversely, I'll always have a thing for Soledad Miranda, despite the fact she was scattered across a highway before I became aware of her films.
So yeah, I can dig Anna Malle as much as I can dig Desiree Cousteau. Each are equally preserved in cinematic amber for a lifetime of viewing pleasure.

I actually knew Leslie Glass, originally a stripper in Baltimore who became a ring card girl at boxing matches (and occasionally featured on ESPN), then a "Penthouse" pet, then a Vivid girl. One of my best friends was a close friend of hers. She was very nice and enjoyed being admired for who she was. Knowing her as I did, I can't imagine that she would not want people to appreciate her achievements after her tragic passing.

Lisa and Trinity are two of the people I had in mind when I originally posted. Lisa had the ability to impart her personality to whatever role she played and Trinity was amazingly versatile. Watch some of her early stuff, it was truly great.

Like others have said it depends on circumstances, if it was suicide, drugs I feel really sad about it. But if its a car accident (like Britney Madison or Kristi Lynn) I say thats just life and it was just unfortunate what happened to them. I don't necessarily feel guilty but if while I'm wanking the thoughts of what occurred to them penetrate my mind I sometimes have to give up and move on to another scene cause its just sad to think about it and that kills my boner. Fortunately most of more tragic porn deaths are of girls I wasn't a big fan to begin with. One exception was Tricia Devereaux when she contracted HIV, cause she was my #1 crush at the time. But I have since gotten over that and currently enjoy her films, plus when you hear from her she has dealt with it and seems to be happy these days.

Haley Paige is one of my all-time favourites - almost the perfect 'girl-next-door'.
When I first read of her passing away (and a great tragedy it was) I couldn't watch her films. But slowly I've come back around it enjoying her finest work.
I wonder if guys could 'stroke it' to Haley after he death because of her 'personality' - that she seemed so shy and innocent as opposed to other models who seems fake and plastic (I know a bit pigeon holing there)?
Damn, why do the good ones always die young? RIP Maryam Irene Haley.

I was a huge fan of Trinity Loren, and still am. She reminded me of a girl I used to know quite intimately. When I heard about Trinity's death it felt like a punch in the stomach. But that didn't stop me from enjoying her movies or her still pictures. It still doesn't.
Just because a particular star is dead doesn't mean I cannot enjoy the image of her as a living person. And that doesn't make me a necrophiliac--I don't want to fuck her corpse; I want to fuck her living, breathing body. Obviously I'm not going to get what I want, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy myself thinking about it.
