Hi everyone,

I'm working on an adult website review and comparison project called PornMeter.

The goal is to help people compare different adult platforms before subscribing, with information about pricing, content selection, features, and overall usability.

Here's the site: https://pornmeter.com/

I'd be interested in hearing what experienced users look for when choosing a premium adult website and what information they find most useful in reviews.

Any feedback is welcome!

Welcome to ADT.

I've been an avid porn collector since the early 1980s. I've collected porn through the magazine era, into the VHS era, through the DVD era, and finally into the Internet era. Over those years, but especially since the huge growth in Internet porn over the last 20 years, I've come to appreciate certain things about porn reviews.

I've also been writing porn site reviews for probably around 20 years now. Up until about five years ago, those were unpaid reviews on a user-driven site, but starting about five years ago, I have a paid writing gig with a review site. I think my perspective is both a collector and reviewer might be of some value to you.

If I had to sum up what I look for in a good review (and what I try to provide when I write reviews), two words come to mind: detail and objectivity. Back when I wrote "amateur" unpaid reviews, in the early days, there were several of us who wrote detailed reviews. Most of us tried to keep it objective as well. But as that site declined, reviews became subjective and vague. "I like big tits and the models here have big ones. This is the best site ever!" I don't consider that a review. Obviously, I'm exaggerating, but not by much in some cases.

There are some excellent review sites on the Internet, and I've always gravitated towards those. What I want to know are things like are downloads available, file resolutions for both downloads and streaming, speeds, the number of available scenes, the update schedule, etc. I don't object to any subjective comments, but I prefer that any subjective observations be related to the site itself and not to what's offered. What I mean is that I'm okay if a reviewer offers a subjective opinion on the site overall. I'd prefer that if a reviewer is going to do that, that they give a sense of their level of experience with other comparable sites. (In the reviews I write, I rarely compare the site being reviewed to any other site because I don't want to be seen as denigrating any other site.)

Other things that I include in reviews because it's information I appreciate, are elements of the production itself. What is the camerawork like? What's the makeup like? What's the lighting like? What's the editing like? To give an example, whenever I review a POV site, I specifically mention what the camerawork is like because with POV, it can be very bad, or it can be very good. There's often not much of a middle ground with POV.

I'm not saying that every review site can do this, but I don't write a review until I've done a deep dive into a site. I hope that some readers appreciate that. I've read reviews of sites that I've also reviewed that had incorrect information because I suspect the other writer browsed through the site for 30 minutes, downloaded a couple of scenes, streamed a couple of scenes, and looked at a few photo sets. Not that this is a big deal for many people, but I've discovered download limits that no other reviewers have. I purposely go looking for download limit by downloading many files. It doesn't happen often, but sometimes I'll find one. (And speaking of download limits, I've read reviews of sites where the tour pages say there is no download limit and the reviewer writes this as fact when the site does have a download limit. If I'm relying on a review to help me decide whether I should subscribe to a site or not, I'd be pissed off if a reviewer said there was no download limit, but I hit one at 20 downloads.)

If there is a common theme to the site, I'll spend a paragraph describing that. Given that so many sites no longer offer a detailed tour of the site, this can be helpful. And as an aside, if a site does offer a full tour, I'll give them credit on that as that's something that many competitors don't offer.

I'd certainly be interested in using your site to compare porn sites. I'm not aware that any other review site does this. If you can offer unique service to the dwindling pool of people actually spend money on porn sites, I think you can do well.

Good luck!
