I am working on final preps for my paysite and free blog and I am looking for some input either from people on here with their own blogs but more specifically from the fans as to what you look for from a porn blog aside from the obvious.
One of the main things I want to stay away from is BLATANT advertising. Sure I have some affiliate program ad buttons and a link to my tour and join now but as for actual content I have the models doing diary posts, I am working on some special guest writers as well as a news/current events section etc. What do you guys want to see from a porno blog that you don't see currently. What do you hate about porn blogs?

Most paysite-affiliated porn blogs I've seen become an instant ghost town because the webmaster is MIA, visitors get the cold shoulder if they aren't paysite members, and paysite members are too busy at the paysite to bother with the blog.
Competing priorities always leaves the blog on the losing end. That's what I think.

Well, I have to agree with ninja on this one dseed. Unless you can put aside at least an hour a day to do updates (or at least three or four times a week), then the blog ends up being left on its own and empty.
This is one reason why a lot of places have moved to twitter, because it's fast and easy to do an update.
One thing that you don't want to do is make the blog just a mirror of your site updates, or one liners about new pictures. That just annoys people. The second thing to keep in mind, is that you may get a better reaction from readers by keeping your blog Safe For Work, even if your website isn't. Tease is a good thing.
If all else fails, you can always start a blog that is basically a news feed. Not really original, but publicists everywhere will love you. LOL

Thanks for the responses.. I agree with you guys that a lot of the blogs end up being ghost towns. I was doing research and found a few that haven't been updated in at least 6 months or the other side is constant updates with site updates. My plan is to kind of mix all of that up. I have sections devoted to site updates that keep it from being so blatant but still there if you wanna know, my models are scheduled to update at least twice a week either with text or video blogs and I am looking for guest writers. LadyB thanks for idea on the Safe for work thing, I was planning on an R-Rated blog but to go totally safe for work may not be such a bad idea. We also use twitter a lot as well as facebook.
