I tend to like most of the changes most girls make over their porn career. I get that some people want to girls to stay the same as when they first came into the business but that is almost never a good idea for a girl who wants a long term career. When a girl first enters the porn biz she's usually working for smaller companies who go for a simple look and vibe for the girl. They usually portray the girl as a typical regular girl having sex on camera. As the girl gets more popular and starts to work for bigger studios the make-up starts to change to try to make her prettier. Lots of girls also start out playing "teens" and those studios go for a more natural look. Over time those girls want to or need to move out of the teen genre and into genres that play up being a woman instead of a teen and to make that transition the way the girl is made up and looks needs to change. That change may involve a different type of make up and in some cases a boob job. Then there are times girls change their looks because of weight gain. When a girl gain weight and becomes more curvy she'll usually move into a different porn genre and often times there will be more opportunities and a bigger audience in those genres. Lastly, what tends to happen is over time girls move more towards a "pornstar" look. While there are many porn fans who like a more "natura"l looking girl I believe the majority of porn viewers like watching overly sexy women that they don't usually see or can't get in real life.

^ Interesting to see pics of Aletta Ocean early in her career. I don't think I've ever seen her from that era before. I remember reading a few comments here where some people were complaining that they prefer the natural looks she had when she first broke in and thought that her current looks were too un-natural and plastic. While I get some people prefer women with no cosmetic surgery or enhancements I'm fairly certain that if Aletta hadn't changed her looks she wouldn't have had the popularity and success she's had if she didn't make the changes. She was pretty with her all natural looks but nothing about her stands out to set her apart from all the other natural girls of the time. Even though today more and more girls have gone for a more exaggerated exotic/bimbo porn look when she got that look it wasn't as common. Also, the tide has turned and young petite natural girls is popular in porn these days. But...I absolutely think Aletta made the right decisions regarding changing her appearance for where porn was at that time.

yes, her first movie, Albures mexicanos was made in 1975. Not a porn movie but she was making erotic scenes. I saw it somewhere (maybe even youtube?) and she was blonde back then like in the pictures above. Than until the late eighties she did other 13 movies (for the few things I've seen, with other erotic roles), and then she had to leave Mexico (she's born in Argentina but she was living there) for a big scandal, apparently she was dating a very famous married politician and she went to Florida where she was making sex tapes with her partners and later she started doing porn. Vanessa definitely carries her years extremely well.
