This isn't a thread about a specific Pornstar ID but I've noticed recently that sometimes a poster might ask for an ID for a pornstar and an answer might be "I know who she is" and not say. Or "Surely you ought to know who she is" and not say. Leaving the original poster still not knowing. The latest instance is in the "ID Needed" thread just below on this page.
I'm wondering if this should be a part of the forum etiquette to say if someone knows the ID of a pornstar/scene or film they should give the answer and not still leave the original poster still guessing.
I wasn't sure where on the forum to put this thread so i will leave it to the mods to move it if needed. Be interesting to see what the mods think also.

I actually replied in the thread that caused this before seeing this one.
I would think it already is covered under this paragraph, I added bold to the relevant portion.

Trolling (baiting people by intentionally posting inflammatory messages) or incessantly harping on an issue/person will lead to the deactivation of your account.
I have over 500 reviews on this site and I didn't recognize the person that the member was asking an ID for.

It would be frustrating to someone who wanted an ID and someone posts below it in so many words. "I know her but I ain't telling you".

Yeah, Brum, I'm a dick. Says so right under my name.
I wanted to have a little fun... I mean, how could you not know 2016 Performer of the Year, Riley Reid?
Then lefaf comes along and says she's Melissa Moore. As you can see in Melissa's thread, the resemblance between her and Riley was evident right from the start. Riley is better known, for sure, but they do look a lot alike.
So, is that Riley or is she Melissa? I honestly don't know.

It's Melissa. Granted it's an easy mistake for the average perv, but I've wanked it enough to both girls (and sometimes in the same scene!) that I consider myself a bit of an expert in the science of Riley/Melissa facial differentiation.

Well Leyden. I have to say I wouldn't spot Riley Reid if I saw her in a strip club and even on a advertising poster outside that club by that I mean no disrespect to Riley Reid in any way. Even though she was Performer of the Year there are many pornstars out there and different people like different girls of different shapes big breasts small breasts blonde,brunette etc. There are some who discover clips of girls for the first time only to realise they have been in the business for years. In remember a post on a thread where someone who been a member here 8 years only discovered Brandi Love a few months ago.
To say as you did "Surely you must know this lady or that lady" as if she were the only pornstar in the world and not giving an answer is not really fair on someone who wanted an ID in the first place.
The best option surely is if you are not going to answer an ID properly then don't post in the thread at all.

Here is the thing, if the person is asking, them they don't know. I'm sure everyone has been in the situation where they didn't know something that someone else thought they should. Being a dick about it by implying that you know and they should and not saying who isn't beimg respectful to the thread in my opinion. Adult DVD Talk is a forum for all fans of adult entertainment. Someone knowing less than someone else shouldn't become fodder for making fun of them.
