What fame? There isn't any fame in being a porn star unless perhaps you are Ron Jeremy who never grows old. People are using their asset in most cases, a nice body while they are still young, all power to them. Those good looks on the girls, beautiful fresh faces, tight bodies will eventually go. They go to a Model agency to get work and get paid. The girl's would not be performing if the pay was poor. And who truly likes to have sex in a studio when you have some jerk director barking out instructions to you constantly and camera guys taking still shots while you freeze your position. It isn't glamorous. Amateur sex is erotic to me, the pros just don't cut it these days.

I'm sure that many porn performers enjoy the recognition that they receive, at least when it is positive. Who wouldn't? However, I doubt that any of them are in the business just for that. Given the choice between fame and fortune I expect most would choose the latter.

i really think most of them are in it because they love sex. And since they can get paid to fuck hot girls/guys while doing it, why not?
Plus i'm sure most are exhibitionists in some way to do it. I remember in an interview once Olivia O'lovely admitted that she didn't mind and liked sex in front of people so that was part of it.

The first reason has to be money. Any other reason and you are in for a rude awakening.
Mind you with the way the business is these days then you are still likely to have one hell of a rude awakening anyway. I guess some might seek a semblance of fame but again the business isn't what it used to be so being a famous pornstar isn't what it once was.
I don't think they get in for the sex at least not on screen. No offense to anyone but girls on film don't have sex. They get fucked but it's not the same thing. Of course the fact that you have sex in front of a camera probably opens certain doors that allow you more sexual freedom than if you didn't but that's done outisde of a film studio.
