I think we are straying from the main point of the thread here which is not why people do porn and how it defers from prostitution but how can people like that ass who wrote the crap in the first post be such longwinded hypocritical assholes, he watches porn but doesn't have respect enough for the women who do porn to be able to even talk to them ?
That is akin to a caste system where the lower classes only work for the enjoyment of the higher classes without being worthy of their respect. Its creating barriers between people by living under the delusion that some people are better than others. A lot of girls in porn give the best of what they have to offer, and although they may only do porn for their personal enjoyment and economy I bet getting a little respect out of it is quite welcome too.
So what makes other people so great that they think they can just treat others like sub-human trash ? What have they achieved that makes them worthy of praise from the rest of us lowly human scum ?
Davy, I think Katja's right in her attitude of blocking clowns like this out of her head. They simply are irrelvant. If she doesn't expereince clowns like this there is no reason for her do worry about it.
However, as someone who looks outside the industry and examines sexual attitudes in general it seems to me that this is the same illogical inexusable and asinine double standard men feel entitled to have. I guarantee you that DAvy would have no problem talking to make pornstars becuase they are getting laid. But since he doesn't marry men and he doesn't marry himself, he is entitled to associate with women who are chaste and hold them to a different standard than he holds men and himself.
i think you missed my point. i prefixed everything with "to me" for a reason. this discussion seems to be about the essence of porn vs prostitution not the legal or linguistical distinction. i am neither a lawyer nor a linguist and this board is niether the court of law nor the academy for languages.
i could find many other distinctions between the 2 just the same way that i could argue that the distinctions you articulated above are actually not distinctions at all.
my point remains that whole argument is a moot point. we might as well argue whether porn is the same as ballet. this thread began as a value judgement statement of one vs the other. this value judgement is meaningless since neither occupation has an inherent value, other than to the holder of the occupation.
whateber value one attaches to either occupation are based on circumstance or subjectivity and will therefore always be a "i said, you said" argument.
What do you mean with "at least"? I just explained to you that being in porn didn't cause any major problems for me. Stop pushing it, I'm don't have a problem.

OK, so he's your average video store perv...one who thinks lowly of women in general...not just pornstars...
...at least that's my psychology of this headcase.
Other than that, if this guy is "a large percentage" of ANY porn population, I'd be real surprised. It's certainly not the hardcore fanbase side of the industry.
I wonder what that guy does for a living? I assume whatever it is he gets paid for it. Porn stars do work that is important. My girl and I had great sex the other day after watching Taryn Thomas cum on camera, so it helped us greatly and assisted us re-kindle our sex lives. parker
Ahem.. well, this may not turn out too well as I've had a few drinks but here goes. In brief, there are just so many hypocritical, sad bastards about that really it beggars belief. We're up to our necks in self appointed moral 'guardians' who are, so often, nothing but thieving, lying parasites themselves. One of the previous posters mentioned religious leaders and politicians LOL... come on, how many of these fine, upstanding 'moral leaders' are anywhere near as squeaky clean as they'd like to have us believe ? In my time of visiting various boards, I've been totally sickened by the amount of pure ignorance I've encountered out there in cyberspace, all kinds of poisoned little shits spouting all kinds of racist, sexist bullshit, quite surreal. My own stance is really that; I enjoy porn, to me, it's a thoroughly enjoyable experience to watch (and have a good wank to) some well made porn. I really, personally don't enjoy watching the 'rougher' stuff too much, not my thing, but I do actually respect the performers who can make this particular form of entertainment so rewarding. To me, to be able to watch gorgeous women in intimate encounters is extremely enjoyable, for my money, they bring great pleasure to me and many others, and I salute them for doing so. As to their particular motivations for choosing this as a career? What's the big deal, unless one enjoys the benefits of being independently wealthy or some such, well, we all have to make a living, simple really. I'm just pleased that some women choose to make their living by doing something that gives me a great deal of enjoyment.
As to the original bloke with his 'they're beneath me' bullshit, well what can you say... If it makes you feel good, good luck with it but really, please don't expect too many people to actually take such utter bollocks seriously.
P.S. I do believe there are people who can 'help' people with such superioty complexes these days... good luck.
