I find it hard to see a one night stand as an ultimate expression of anything. If most people really thought that a quick fuck was so deep and meaningful then prostitutes would be short of customers, porn would have fewer viewers, and bars and nightclubs wouldn't be packed with drunken people trying to get laid.In my experience the vast majority of those people are complete hypocrites. Besides, society's attitude towards particular jobs changes over time. It's not that long ago that acting was considered an immoral profession, while now actors are highly respected.No, we don't all know this, clearly some of us disagree with you. Personally I don't see any reason why prostitution is morally any worse than a typical customer service job. How society views it doesn't matter to me, not when society's view of sexuality is often so fucked up. I don't see how a prostitute is selling herself, or selling out, any more than any other worker trying to make a living. I doubt any of us here have any right to feel superior to people working in the sex industry.
