I agree with you that her asking price would be too high for any producer to make his money back but I'll counter by saying that whatever amount she thinks it would be worth is grossely exagerated. There is no denying that Sasha was an amazing sex performer that could make you a lot of money by being in your movie but I don't think that's enough now. The World recession has altered the face of todays porn to the point where the big companies are struggling. Having a star like Sasha might be nice for your movie but people aren't necessarily going to fork over 28$ for a dvd where she performs a sex act that she's already performerd in half a dozen other dvd's. I wonder if she didn't see that her star was starting to fall and through luck and talent was able to find an out before it crashed.
It moves so quickly and scenes sometimes come out two years after they are shot, that makes it nearly impossible to pinpoint the moment when a lady truly retires. I see your point, I just don't have that much time to dedicate to porn. Hell sometimes I find a new favorite performer at the end of their cycle. As long as a girl is still floating in pornland it's hard to say she's "out of the biz." If she's escorting, stripping, a part of the social scene, doing make up behind the scenes, etc., to me she's still in porn. It's like a rockstar, sometimes you are on tour, sometimes you aren't. Sometimes you are just laying low recording a record.
How depressing that having sex with someone who just happens to have a black skin is viewed as taboo and extreme - but of course US porn isn't racist - repellent titles like "the abominable black man" and "Whitezilla is biiger than a n***" are just harmless fun,right? Dodgers are just expressing "personal choice", I'm sure. The UK isn't perfect, but thank God this nonsense isn't nearly as prevalent as it is in the US.
BTW - I'not suggesting pat is racist - however he is inadvertently demonstrating the depressing reality of the US porn industry. Apologies for going off-topic, but his comment inadvertently demonstrated a phenomenon I find disgusting. Wow, she looks great now! She lost some weight and I always new she would blow me away with black hair. Thanks to her ridiculous hair color and her obesity I was able to ignore the second two thirds of her DVD catalog. For the first third of her catalog, Pinky was so much the bomb phenom that I was able to ignore the clown hair.
For me it wasn't just that she was beautiful, beauty is subjective and there are loads of beautiful pornstars... It was her personality. She was one of that small group of pronstars that could do a Gonzo scene, and be witty and clever during the introduction and then switch mode and go all out in some pretty demanding scenes... There's another theread running at present about pornstars that didn't enjoy making their scenes....I always got the impression that for her it was a job, and while she went all out in her scenes it was still just an example of her willing to work hard than any sort of inate love of porn... She also seems to have followed an industry cliche and started doing anal towards the end of her career... While I'm glad to have the opportunity to see her do it, I was annoyed watching her with Mike Adriano that she wasn't treated with a little bit more respect... The scene lacked the witty and clever verbal to and fro with the camera that's there in her regular scenes... so I'm taking that to mean she wasn't a 100 % happy with it... Also I'm full of admiration for a woman that's battled cancer as well as drug addiction and seems to be doing well now... I'm sure she'll do well at whatever she turns her hand to...
