I tried to find another thread on this but this really isn't a "name one you want to comeback / cumback" thread. It's more like a band you heard during your time - did not pay much attention to - and then when they were gone you realized just how good they were.
It's happened to me a few times with pornstars and it must have happened to others.
The primary way it happens is that I saw them, knew of their work, and just thought ho-hum, another shooting star, and then I realized when they left that actually they had something that others did not and that I was blind to it. The other way it happens is that certain pornstars are hyped so much that upon viewing there is a letdown and a dismissal but then I realize later while maybe they did not live up to the hype they were still exceptional in their own right. This is not nostalgia for those who we appreciated during their time, it is for those we underappreciated. I'm happy to say it's only happened a handful of times and this time it's Dani Woodward. I remember a lot of Naughty America scenes with her and I jacked off a few times and moved on. Now, I realize, actually there was something special about her that many other fans apparently got...reportedly Italian & Scottish and from Michigan...she had, I thought, a real East Coast New Jersey type accent and I found it strangely sexy on her when usually I find it annoying. She was pretty in an atypical sense (her forehead was quite prominent) and that red hair that I thought had to be fake, because it was such a deep red, turned out to be real because in scene upon scene the color never changed. It wasn't a Faye Reagan red but a different type of red altogether. But the thing that gets me is the enthusiasm, the smiles, the happiness, the joy, that she actually clearly enjoyed it. I remember one scene with Randy West where she played a schoolgirl and just sort of tore it up, sped everything up like did everything 50% faster (I once saw Harmony Rose and Tory Lane do this to a guy in a scene like they were on speed or something), and finished in a frenzy. She was extremely eager to please and gave off not just a PSE impression but a GFE impression. It is all a fantasy right? It is all about who your mind and dick think they could be with. As I get older, I'm starting to think that attitude and ability trump looks in real life and in porn. The girl next door who is warm wins out over the superstar with implants who is cold. Of course, some women, have it all...Austin Kincaid comes to mind as does Sophie Dee and you could probably list a hundred more. And then we could debate about Nikki Benz's persona. But think about it - in your experience aren’t the most beautiful women (whether natural or augmented by any kind of cosmetic surgery) often the coldest? And aren't those that are a little less stunning often a little more warm? If it holds true for real life - it holds true for porn, I think. Then again, I live in a very looks-oriented, rather superficial place, Los Angeles. And I am sure some guys get off on smoking hot ice queens (oxymoron). Sorry, if I over-generalized and played on stereotypes because I know that many supposed ordinary girls (many ordinary girls in porn would be head turners in real life) are cold as ice and often these are the ones that get left in the dust after a few scenes, few months or a year or two, because they have neither the looks nor the attitude (personality) and ability (know how to fuck) to make it. By contrast if Sunny Leone can't make it, Armageddon is upon us.
So anyway is there anyone you miss, that was during your time, that you did not appreciate until they retired?
