But I do like the twin sister defense. Too bad that she's too beautiful for anyone to truly believe it. I think she regrets making her movies now. I wonder who ratted her out?
But I thought Norway was one of those countries that was alot more open than say America? How come they won't allow an ex-pornstar to be a Miss Norway?
I think that Norway is more conservative than the rest of the Scandanavian countries. If she was Danish, Swedish or Finish there may not have been a problem. I don't know. I'm just guessing.
Being open, accommodating and respectful of the choices and privacy of others, is one thing.
Having a person with such a controversial past, (I didn't say "bad" or "dirty", I said "controversial"), representing your country and it's people is a different story.
Even if selected, there is no way that her past would not have been a total and complete distraction to her duties and responsibilities. That's all anybody would care about, and all she would ever be asked about.
Plus, and I'm guessing here cuz I haven't read the article, she probably had to lie, or at a minimum, hide her past, on her application for the contest. They usually ask pretty specific questions about people's pasts in these situations.
This just wouldn't work. We might love porn and it's practicioners, but the rest of the world is not quite there yet.
Really, I feel for her situation, and strangely it flies in the face of the stereotype that we have in America that Europeans tolerate sex much more than we do, while we tolerate violence much more than they do.
If people were able to see her naked she would have an unfair advantage over other contestants. In the rules it said that shey should not have had commersial nude pictures taken of them.
I do not know which organization this beauty-contest is affiliated with (there are quite a few for Miss Universal, Ms. World, etc.; quite like the situation in pro-boxing). But AFAIK all of these organisations have a no nudity (and no porn) policy, be it for their national contests in Norway, USA, Burkhina Faso or the Netherlands.
Also every other year a Miss National/Universe/World has to give back her "crown", if she chooses to do a pictorial for Playboy, e.g., which is also forbidden during the follow-up year.

They may not be Norwegian rules. If the contestants go to a larger competition, Miss World/Universe or whatever it is, that organization can probably set the restrictions.

Hey, shouldn't this be in Star Crossed? My shit got locked over there
Well Jewel most people on here might not care. But once you get into other nations and cultures, then it becomes quite different. Some nations and cultures are so uptight that they probably would have boycotted the Miss Universe pagent. And as we all know, that mean big bucks lost and they weren't going to let that happen.
She was one of my favorites last year, despite the fact that she didn't do anything more than regular vag scenes.
I feel sorry for her not getting to compete, but how can you expect to hide your porn career, although in her case very short, from others. Like it or not, if a girl does porn and someone wants to find out about her past, chances are the truth will come out.
If you read the second link to the English article from the Norwegian newspaper, they say that all contestents are asked if they've ever done any commercial work that required them to be naked. I think porn would qualify for this.
I do think Scandinavian countries are more open about nudity, albeit in a non-sexual way. When I was on vacation in Norway, Sweden and Denmark 6 years ago, we were incredulous as we watched a 40-ish women change her clothes as she got ready to attend a wedding. She did it right in the church parking lot, as she stripped down to her underwear, without a care in the world. Can you imagine seeing that in the US?
However, I don't think this translates into a totally open-minded attitude towards porn, especially the stuff that is not-so-complementary to women. I would rate Scandinavian countries as very female-friendly, and that they don't think much of things that make fun of women, or objectify them in a demeaning way.
Considering that of the eight films that Ms. Diana did, 5 of them were for RLD, these wouldn't exactly be something fitting for a person chosen to represent a country that prides itself on being progressive with respect to women. Can you imagine if photo stills or film clips of Throat Gaggers 3 started making the rounds in connection with the holder of the Miss Norway crown?
I don't see anything wrong with her being asked to step down from the competition. She was asked about her past and lied about it when she entered the competition, so the judges are only following the rules that have been there all along.
Maybe she did it for publicity reasons. I can remember a story of Brigitte Bui (I believe it was her) going to enter a pageant to get maximum publictity when the truth comes out. It's an easy way to get known around the world.
I think you might be on to something angelafan. She could probably turn this 15 minutes of fame into something bigger. Maybe some guest spots on some t.v. shows and prehaps even more. But I think it's more likely that she was really intent on winning the pagent and being crowned Miss Norway.
people all across the world should enjoy sex instead of codemning it we can start a movement called manifest sextiny and force them to like sex (just kidding)
porn isn't that bad now if she was a terrorist then I would have to draw the line
Well dude, I wish it was that simple, But there it now seems that she has recieved some death threats from Muslim extremists. She's Iranian by birth and they now say that she has disgraced their religion. In the Muslim religion, that means that she must die so their honor can be restored. (What nutjobs these people are. ) That tells me how some people just can stand to see a women who's not afraid to show her sexuality.
Muslim extremists are really getting on my nerves.
I would like to take this oppotunity to offer my own personal death threat to any muslim extremist reading this! (I suspect many Ayatollah's secretly visit this forum and jack off whilst wearing girls panties!)
Although i think christian and jewish extremists are pathetic, i think islam stands out as being particularly anti-female, anti-gay, anti-modern, anti-tolerance and worse of all anti-porn!
but there are news about that Persian Princess you might want to know. After getting sacked at Miss Norway 2004 it seems she´s getting more and more of a fulltime slut!
1. She said, she slept with Popstar Robbie Williams 2. She has new boobs
