Last week i placed an order with Lasersedge for 2 DVD`s.

I selected their Global Priority Airmail service (without cases) as i thought this would be a faster and more secure method of shipping.

So today when i get home from work i find a package from them has been delivered.

So i eagerly open it up looking forward to viewing "Cum Fart Cocktails" and "50 Guy Cream Pie"

But Horror, what do i find inside but a a cheap dvd titled "leisure timer entertainment 10 videos !!!!

On both the disc it has the following website URL directvideoanddvd

I have e-mailed lasersedge to see what the hell is going on. So far they have replied to say that they don't know of this title.

It looks like my package has been tampered with somewhere in the postal system.

I'll post any updates here.

Thanks Lazenby

Hey Lazenby. Sounds like a genuine, honest cock up to me - I am sure Laser's Edge will be good enough to sort you out with the titles you ordered. I would not suggest that one unfortunate incident like this is reason to beware of (IMO) one of the better retailers.

I feel that I needed to respond to this "Beware" notice in our defense since you haven't posted an important piece of information. You stated yourself in the original email that "The envelope has been resealed with selotape!!" (your quote to us). I responded with:

"What is the barcode/UPC number on that disc? I do not have such a title in my inventory listings." (my quote)

We do not have such a title anywhere on our site. Nor have we ever carried such a title.

All of the information you provided leads me to believe the disc was pilfered somewhere along the way. This is in no way a reflection of our service.

I would appreciate any further correspondence be via email and would hope that other forum members will try to abide by the etiquette of this great site and try to resolve any problem with the retailer prior to making a public "declaration". Claims like this hurt a retailers reputation unfairly.

Just my two cents.

I'm have bought movies from Lasersedge many many times over the past 2 years and it only went wrong once with the wrong title. I ordered I Like It Black 1 but I got I Like it Black 4.

Did you not get my reply??

Their is no barcode or UPC number on the disc.

Also please forgive me i have realised that i could have worded my original post to alert adt members about a possible case of postal tampering better and i was not accusing you or your company of any underhand dealings.

A naive question perhaps but why would someone in the postal system bother to swap a DVD for a another when he could just nick it?

Or was it registered mail?

That's what i 1st thought, however both myself and Marc at Lasersedge have agreed that the disc they substituted was a European released and not available in the US. Therefore it looks like someone at Royal Mail has tampered with this.

At the moment their is a BIG problem with professional gangs mainly Nigerians who are stealing items and identities from post in the UK at the moment. Their was a program on Channel 4 earlier this year when an undercover reporter went and worked for Royal Mail. What he discovered made headline news.

Why on earth would a Royal Mail worker open your package which contains an Adult dvd, and replace it with a adult dvd he had.. Sorry but being a former employee of Royal Mail these things do not happen.

How would they know it was an adult dvd in the package !
Why would they have a replacement adult dvd with them !

If they wanted the dvd and IF it was registered mail all they would do is take the dvd out and deliver your package, so WHY would they even bother going to the hassle of giving away one of there dvds, and swapping it over for yours.

4 possible scenarios

1) The dvd was wrongly posted by someone working for the company you bought it from (i dont think this happened)

2) Yourself are simply saying this, in return hoping for a replacment dvd (In now way am i saying you did).

3) A postman knew your package was an adult dvd :-) opened up the package, took your dvd out, replaced it with his adult dvd, and posted it :-) Highly unlikely, think about it.

4) Your package was scanned by customs, a customs employee thought he would have it for himself and gave you a dvd they had in stores (quite possible).

I just dont think a postal worker could have done this, yes alot of things go on with Royal Mail, but for someone to know your package was an adult dvd inside, then open and replace it with there adult dvd is ridiculous. They wouldnt replace anything, they would just simply take it out, seal it up and send to you. Makes not one bit of difference to them..

Guys (and gals)

The only thing that lazenby and I could arrive at is that a postal worker opened the package and replaced it with a DVD he had on his person. The reason for not just "nicking' it was that it was sent GLOBAL PRIORITY MAIL and is therefore trackable and guaranteed to be delivered. My only guess is that he or she figured if it got delivered the receiver would just figure the store screwed up, what the knucklehead didn't figure on was that the disc he swapped for was a non U.S. Release, but rather a Euro title. That is the only way I figured it out, had lazenby not forwarded me pictures of the disc/package I would have figured one of our guys messed up and sent the wrong order.

I don't know for sure where it happened, I just know that it didn't happen on this end and I have a good feeling it happened before lazenby got it, so that only leaves the people in between and the non US DVD almost completely rules out happening in the US Post. That leaves only one oganization and most likely the end postal carrier is to blame if I had to venture to guess.

Just my opinion...

We have also just received email from 2 customers in the UK, that said they have received Leisure Time DVDs instead of what they ordered. Someone in the USA or UK postal system is taking out DVDs from the Global Priority envelopes and replacing then with Leisure Time DVDs.

This is the wackiest crime I've heard in a while. If they just had the decency to steal the damn things, but to replace them with Leisure Time ...that really is low...

Yeah, this is really weird, I mean how does the postal worker knows there's porn in the package and how do they get the DVD's from Leisure and why switch instead of just taking the original DVD?

Where does the offender get all those Leisure Time titles?

Perhaps it's a new marketing campaign by Leisure Time.

This is one of the weirder things I've ever heard of. It'd make an interesting theme for a novel if it wasn't serious. I don't want to be paranoid but you know, I hate the idea of someone meesing around with mail. Did want to say that yesterday I sucessfully received a DVD from AdultDVDToday (mailed from the US) here in Australia, promptly sent, untampered with, well packaged (good use of tape ) oh and the disc was what I ordered too!

Good luck with sorting this one out.

This, indeed, is truly bizarre. I've neever heard of this before. All my dleiveries have arrived tamper free and the right titles.

Gabriel Nine,

I've never seen a Leisure Time title but i've heard they are rank.

Are they really that bad??

Lazenby,

I hope your problem was sorted. I don't think the problem was laseredge's end.

Later.

Hi noodlegirl

can you tell me where in the UK these customers were?

Might be able to narrow down where this is happening

Lazenby,

One order was sent to Ramsgate, Kent UK and the other order sent to Luton, Bedfordshire UK. Both orders were sent out Global Priority mail on Sept. 8th.

Hey Cupid - has some name changing been going on around here? Loved you on the Kenny Everett show by the way.

Anyway, truth to tell I have never seen a Leisure Time title to my knowledge - it is simply a running joke.
