Unfortunately resuming the download isn't working for me. When it fails and I try again it goes back to the beginning, then fails again after a short time, etc.. I did contact them about it and have just got this message:
"I have informed our technical administrator. We will fix the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience. "
Sounds like a standard reply, but at least they seem to be aware there is a significant problem that needs fixing. Needs sorting though, especially given the fact that a membership is not exactly cheap.
Edit: having read other posts on this page it obviously is a standard reply. Still worth contacting them though.
^Yep it's all gone south again. Struggling to even log in. I had just over a day of decent download speeds and hoped it had been sorted but looks like it's not, have mailed support again.

Can't really blame the guy att support, he's not responsible for anything, but PB definitely should make some kind of announcement on the site about the situation. But as usual they prefer to pretend like nothing, arrogant is the word...
I'm now also having trouble getting as far as logging in. Even when I do eventually get over that hurdle the site is unusable: either it's incredibly slow, or it grinds to a halt completely. I just tried searching for a particular scene and it just sat there doing nothing whatsoever. This surely can't go on much longer, especially for a site charging premium prices for memberships. At the very least some sort of explanation/announcement would appear to be in order, particularly if a fix is not imminent.
Just tried downloading again. At first I thought they'd finally fixed the problem because the first download worked. It was only a short video and so not a very big file, but still, it worked. Then I tried downloading something else.....and it's straight back to failing after a short time. And as far as I can see there is still no announcement on the site about whatever the hell is going on.
^Yes, I get nothing but constant fails as well. And after having restarted the download a couple of times I get "error file not found". When it was just slow a week back using a download manager helped, but now that does not work either.
And without any informaton at all on the site they are handling this the worst possible way.
My downloads are better then last week, they do still fail after some time but I'm using IDM (internet download manager) and am able to refresh the download link and continue. I think JDownloader might have a similar feature. The downloads don't seem to be being throttled as badly now but haven't got a v ery fast link (7MB/s). Browsing the site is awful, sometimes is ok for a few pages but then slows to a crawl and some pages even time out.
So 2 weeks in after re-subbing and it's not really been very good experience so far. If they would just communicate they are having issues then it would be far better PR wise then just sending out boiler plate email responses from support.
Like I say: amateurs. They promise a lot! Things will get better, stay with us, new exciting content blah blah blah. Problem is they take their subscribers for granted! They depend on US. If we all unsubscribe, then what? Exactly. Arrogant pricks. I hope you read this PB!!
They're having some pretty significant problems, for sure. I subscribe for a month once a year, and I'm right in the middle of that month, so I'm super bummed at these problems.
How long has it been since this started - over two weeks? That's now half a month's subscription down the crapper already and still no sign of the problem being fixed yet. If this carries on much longer - and especially if no announcement is made - people will surely start asking for refunds, and if those refunds are not forthcoming subscriptions will be cancelled. That could very well cost PB dear. You'd think two weeks is more than long enough to fix the problem; at the very least it's long enough to identify the problem and let subscribers know what's going on. Yet still the Trappist silence continues. Premium membership prices? Yes. Premium service? Not so much.
Edit: tried e-mailing them again. The reply just says there is still an issue and they're trying to solve it.
I wouldn't mind the lack of an update if they'd fixed the download problem, but no - nothing. The only difference from earlier this week seems to be that logging in and searching the site seem to be OK now. But downloads? Still failing shortly after they start and no sign of it being fixed. Oh, and still no announcement, naturally. This is beyond ludicrous.
Oh, I agree that ideally they should do both. What I'm saying is I can live with a delayed update, even though it shouldn't happen, if they get the site fixed. If it's impossible to download anything then there's hardly any point in subscribing at all, so that's by far the bigger problem. And yet still no statement to tell us what the hell is going on, while e-mailing their customer support just results in a standard reply which says "there's a problem and we're trying to fix it". The longer this goes on the more likely it is that people start to cancel their memberships so it could really cost them and yet they don't seem to be at all bothered.
Is there a list for either or all of the following ?

^I'm not an insider, just a member on the site since start, but my guess is it's just a matter of preference and choice of policy. A matter of "artistic direction" if you like. It's a niche site, and as such they simply want to keep it to sperm swallowing and facials.
I mean there is all kind of things they could do, but don't because they don't want to, simple as that.
For my part that's great. I have no desire to see the models puke, even if I know it happens all the time.
But actually showing the sequence with Emily Travel pixelated is going a bit further than in previous scenes, when moments like that usually was cut from the scene.

I wonder if it's worth telling them that you're not renewing because of what's going on with the site. It's been going on for at least a month now, and yet there is still no sign of the problem being fixed and no announcement to let us know what the hell is going on. At this point it seems the only thing that might jolt them into action is if they realise that it's starting to cost them subscriptions and therefore money. If that doesn't bother them, presumably nothing will.

Fair enough. I haven't dealt with them much but if they consistently make promises they don't keep, and if they're not fussed about losing subscriptions, then I suppose there's not much any of us can do. I may stick with them for the coming month but if the site is still as bad as it is now after that I may also cancel.
Idk why sites like these and AnalVids/Giorgio Grandi are so set in their ways that they refuse to adapt/change to cater to more fans. It's like they actively hate more money.
I won't be re-subscribing anytime soon. I pay in order to download scenes, and until the ability to download is fixed, subscribing would be the equivalent of flushing money down the toilet.
I very much echo your comments. In general terms I have loved PB in recent years as they have gotten some very gorgeous beautiful young girls swallowing their brains out and it's amazing to watch. I just tried again a few minutes ago as there are a couple of scenes I was really hoping to get downloaded, but the download is cutting out literally every 5 to 10 seconds. It's every bit as bad as it was a month ago if not worse.
I was going to give it the coming month to see if it improved but on second thoughts, no. Sod this. My patience has run out. I've just cancelled. There are several more days before my next monthly subscription payment would have been due, so I assume my subscription will run until then; during that time I'll have another go at downloading the scenes I was after, but I really don't hold out much hope after seeing how bad it is this evening. If they fix the download problem then fine, but they're no nearer to fixing it now than when it started weeks ago.
and lets face it, downloads are the only thing left the site is useful for, it's now ~3 months out of date on everything else. @Noisedmbryo if you haven't already try a download manager (like JDownloader2 which is free) that really helps when sites have garbage downloads or issues. It also allows you to refresh links to download that have crapped out and the session has ended so you don't have to start from scratch.
I've found that when a download fails, if I click the retry option then it does start downloading again from the point at which it previously broke down. So if I keep doing that every time it fails then eventually I can download the file. The problem is that download speeds are slow. I recently tried to get full fibre broadband to get much faster speeds but it's not available at my address, which is bloody infuriating because it is available a few streets away. Here in the UK the full fibre network seems to be very patchy. That means that at least until I can get full fibre - whenever that will be - I'm relying on the old copper cables and the slow download speed that comes with that.
Although annoying, the slow downloads are not an insurmountable problem as long as the download connection is reliable - then I can just start it off, browse other sites or do something completely different, and then come back to it when it's done. But when the only way to get a file downloaded is to sit there watching it and clicking retry every time it fails, which it does constantly, it's hopelessly impractical. I've used my December membership to download things like interviews and bts, just the extra Diamond-only bits and pieces for scenes I got as a gold member, as they're generally much smaller files than those for the main scenes and so more manageable with the current download problem. At least that means I haven't got literally nothing for this month's payment. But the main scene files are often around 3 GB, sometimes more. If you want cam 1 and cam2 as well, which I do, then that's three large files, maybe around 25 to 30 minutes download time each, so about 90 minutes that I'd have to sit there constantly clicking retry. Bollocks to that.
I e-mailed them again and was told that using a VPN service might help. I don't know if it would or not, but it shouldn't be necessary. The download connection should be reliable anyway. The fact that it's not after all this time, when they've had multiple people tell them about it, is incredible. I refuse to believe it takes this long to sort a technical problem.
^You should take the advise from @lenross and try a download manager, it will be faster in most cases and it will resume downloads automatically.
It's crazy that they still after so long time haven't fixed the downloads and 4K videos. And these are only the most urgent issues, there's many other things as well, as the unreliable update schedule, most model pages missing since many months ago, comments not posted for days or weeks, etc...
As the download problem is only with PB, and no other sites, I'll probably give it a month or two and see if they fix the problem. If they don't, well at least I won't be wasting any money. If they do fix it and I resubscribe, then I might try a download manager in case the problem recurs. At the moment I'm just thoroughly pissed off with them for not fixing the problem despite having had plenty of time to do so. As you say, there are other issues as well, albeit smaller ones. If I'm going to resubscribe at any point I want to know that they've got their act together first. Considering their membership fees I don't think that's too much to ask.
Considering the price I think the absolute minimum we should expect is reliable downloads and a site that is updated regularly, it's not rocket science and they do the hardest part pretty well, booking some amazing models and getting the guys organized, filming and making the scenes happen. But let it all down with the interface to the customer which is really so easy to fix. If they just sent out or posted some kind of communication it would be better, but the lack of comms is just arrogant and rude.
I have slower (FTTC) 60mb connection too and waiting for full fibre, VPN does not help, in fact I had to change VPN provider as PB's provider block's ExpressVPN and I kept getting 403 forbiddens when trying to download, support wasn't much help and still have not replied on that one. Not to bang on about it but the DL manager will also create multiple connections to a single download, so if it's being rate limited by PB (which it seems to be) then the multiple connections add up to decent speed, and auto-reconnect helps lower the blood pressure! Lets hope it improves, all we can do is keep bugging them.
Not a member of the site, but I remember when Bangbros downloads used to be extremely unreliable and Idk if it's a similar problem here but as videofan said, a download manager did help me with Bangbros downloads, so it could help here as well. JDownloader is a good download manager imo.
I tried downloading JDownloader2 and it seemed to install OK. Unfortunately when I tried downloading something from PB nothing different happened. It didn't download in JDownloader2, which just sat there apparently doing nothing. I don't have the technical knowledge to know why it isn't working so I seem to have hit a dead end there. Still need PB to fix the problem.
