They're coming out in chronological order, so first will be THE PRIVATE AFTERNOONS OF PAMELA MANN (1974), then NAKED CAME THE STRANGER (1975), then THE OPENING OF MISTY BEETHOVEN (1975) and finally BARBARA BROADCAST (1977). These releases will be completely uncut with ALL censored material (i.e. the garage scene in PAMELA, etc.) restored. It looks like PAMELA will be arriving on DVD late this month. I don't have an exact date yet but I'll post it as soon as I have something concrete. But just to give everyone a taste of what this first release will include, here's a look at the extras and features: Uncut hardcore version of the feature film, mastered in 2K from the negative. Never before seen softcore version also mastered in HD. Audio commentary track with director Radley Metzger. Original theatrical trailer. Fully illustrated liner notes booklet. New video interviews with stars Georgina Spelvin and Eric Edwards. The locations of Pamela Mann, then and now. Never before seen outtakes and an entire deleted scene that never even made it to the theatrical release. Metzger's Manhattan: A look at how Metzger used the city in his film (full of rare behind the scenes footage and outtakes). Music subtitle track: An optional subtitle track which explains Metzger's use of library tracks and gives background on the composers used in the film. An optional English subtitle track. It's refreshing to learn these films are being released uncut since VCA self censored themselves more than a decade ago for good reasons. What has changed in the political or sexual climate since then to go ahead unflinching with the release of these uncut films?
