Had my first Customs intercept today, and it was a Private title! I'd have expected them to seize it with both hands - well, one hand at least, but they patted it on the head and sent it on unmolested (Cheers, Erodvd.nl - you're the biz!). I was particularly taken by the disk cover, with its naughty side and its polite side (polite side out). That was a new one on me.

Customs are not a problem so long as you don't order the banned stuff. I had my order from Erovideo inspected last week as well and it appears they may be targeting packages from Europe more now. I think 1 or 2 members here have had orders from Erovideo/dvd inspected as well. Hope it's not a campaign they have got to check everything from this top retailer.

Silvia Saint "The Academy" - beautiful girls, plenty of sex, even the anal looked good and usually that's a turnoff for me. Surprised to find Frank Thring is that dirty old bugger off the early Electric Blue tapes. Didn't enjoy seeing his knob, I can tell you. He should stay behind the camera.

What tickled me was the double sided cover with one "rude" side and one "polite" side. I'd not seen that before (I'm easily amused).

I got another disk today that came through uninspected, so I don't think they're hitting every package.

Hi JMO,

actually it's quite common to print double sided covers. Many of the DVDs I own have got this "feature". I once heard this would enable some stores to sell these films although they usually weren't allowed to display those hardcore-covers (maybe because these are not pure adult-stores and youths are allowed to go in there). But maybe there are other reasons as well.

I personally like the fact I can choose the cover, and while I once thought the "hard" version ought to be more impressive, I came to the conclusion that the "softer" side tends too look much more sexy.

Spesedy - I didn't know that. I suppose that's what comes of living in a country that thinks sex should be done away with :o)

Looking at The Academy covers, I'm inclined to agree that the softcore side is sexier than the hardcore side (although the hardcore side gives you a better idea of what's on the disk and therefore what to avoid if you don't like certain things.) I'm impressed with Private's quality. The name Private in the UK is blighted by its association with David Sullivan and his Private Shop chain. They've always given sex shops a bad name in the UK because of extortionate prices, threatening staff and a generally sleazy air. I know much of that would be down to weird British attitudes and local government restrictions but you'd think they'd make an effort.
