I think it is technically illegal to put "obscene" material into the postal system though I don't think this has ever been enforced. | struan Member SCOTLAND 242 Posts 8/02 | Posted - Jan 22 2005 : 6:08AM AFAIK, if material is equivalent to R18, which most of Privates would be, then it is not obscene, so I don't know why the postal service would have a problem? Many UK authorities seem to be a ‘law unto themselves’ though when it comes to censorship etc. :( Of course, the VRA (another piece of dreadful legislation) makes it illegal to supply R18 videos by mail order within the UK (can only be legally bought, in person, from a licensed sex shop), but Customs have stated that it is legal to import R18 equivalent material, which then must go through the postal system !!! I also hope they get up and running again soon. [Link] |
