And, also like many of you, I'm kind of apprehensive about the direction they may be going in. I was a fan of Adamo's Private Penthouse line but I haven't touched one since Sex Forever - all the slut-fucking was ruined for me by the jittery, processed FX in every damn scene. I like my video quality crisp and clear so I can almost dream I'm there in the room - I don't dream of my TV looking like its vertical hold has gone to shit. The earlier ones struck a finer balance between art and screwing. This one went too far into arty. Anyone seen any later ones? Know if the picture is still so screwed up with video effects? And what's with the same cast each movie? Sophie Evans and co are lovely chicks but please, let's have some horny new talent, unveiled to us in Adamo's old high fashion style. [Link] |

It's funny the wild variance in people's perceptions of Private: to some the epitome of European raunch, to others mechanical and lacking heat, and to others still too tame and middle of the road. None of which is exactly true, or exactly false, if you follow. I suspect they will go on as normal, whether Max Bellochio, Pierre Woodman or Michael Ninn is directing. I think Private as a company always put their stamp on the product regardless. For example, there's just something different about the Matador that's different from Le Castel's work for Anabolic etc...even though he's making essentially the same movie for both companies. Also, those in other conversations who have recently been accusing Private of "selling out", especially with Ninn, (ridiculous - the modern guise of Private has always been commercial) remember Le Castel is still there making crude smut (!) even if Woodman has gone.
