I have recently become enthralled by Adamo's Private/Penthouse collaboration DVDs. When I was browsing ebay, I came across the following disc:

It was billed as a Private/Penthouse DVD. This is the second DVD I've seen on ebay that bore packaging that was not what I have seen on the Private web site (the first was Insane Obsession), yet billed itself as a Private/Penthouse DVD.

Does anyone have the scoop on these DVDs?

My local video store has a Penthouse Variations that is obviously (from the pictures) repackaged Dangerous Things 1. I figured that if Private can distrubute "Penthouse" movies, then Penthouse probably had some of them packaged for them to market directly themselves.

Do you know if these discs are identical to the Private's? Same scenes, extras, etc? Some of these go far cheaper than their Private counterparts on ebay!

I read somewere that if the dvd cover had penthouse at the top of the box and private down the left hand side , then it was being distributed by penthouse and it was a softer version of the film.

I have become smitten with Adamo's work, and would love to know if these discs have any new material on them, although I doubt they do.

I'm sorry, I don't have the slightest idea about whether these movies are the same or not in the different packaging. Adamo's movies don't generally have much that would be considered offensive (by porn standards), but they may have been dumbed down in some way for the American audience, with extra narration or dubbing, for example. But this is just my guess.

If I find one of these cheap enough on ebay, I will pick one up. Then I will let you (and anyone else that is interested) know if the film has been altered in any way.

The Variations series Penthouse is distributing in the States, are the Soft versions of the Private/Penthouse movies we produced.
