I am wondering about something. Private shoots some movies in the english language and others... it is less clear. I am very happy whenever I see that some people do not bend to the automatic-english-for-money, no matter what the cultural cost can be logic (I am not from an english-speaking society myself, which can explain, although I know that many english speakers care also), but I am wondering about how the filming, the acting happens.

I had the initial theory that it was simply shot in a language like italian or french, but when I see Private films that look dubbed in english, when I switch the languages on the DVD, all the languages look dubbed, you see? Also, Private has the chance of being based in Europe, continent of great diversity, where filming in only one language could be difficult and maybe limiting in terms of casting (you would have not to choose any actor/actress who did not speak italian, for example). Since it is quite international also, I don't think they often cast in a single country or origin (maybe someone will confirm or deny; please do).

From these observations and (very serious and important ) reflexions, I draw this: the filming must be shot with a general suggestion (let's say the lines in german or czech if you are comfortable enough with that language), or maybe no guideline at all sometimes, and some actors simply give the lines in the tongue of their choice. I believe I have been able to catch it, to notice it for fact sometimes. That does make me wonder how a scene goes on with two actors giving lines in different languages! It must sound quite curious and interesting at the same time. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks a million.
