(read my last post to see the fix to this problem..thanks adultdvdnow)

I placed my first order with adultdvdnow last week. Today I received the package in the mail, which confused me because I was suppose to get it by ups, and I DO have a normal mailing address. Anyway, the package seemed fine, and I opened it, to find a lot of foam, and a receipt, but no DVD. This is the first time this has ever happened to me in all my online DVD purchases, and it was a little upsetting. Anyway, so I emailed them the problem, but I worry about what their response is going to be. What is the history of this store? Will they treat me right here? The reason I am scared is because it was sent through the mail. On their site, they say they do not insure the DVD if it is sent by mail. Of course, I paid to have it shipped by UPS, and they sent it by mail on their own. All I want is my DVD, and I really do not want to dispute it with my credit card, but I will if they do not give me another one. Thanks for your time, and please let me know how they have handled problems in the past.

Is there any evidence that the package was opened and the DVD was removed?

If there was any, I would not be able to tell now. When I first got the package, nothing seemed out of place, and even the weight seemed normal for one dvd..It came in one of those Priority Mail packages that can hold a few dvds, but many stores use for shipping just one...

I opened it on one side, and the other sides do not looked like they have been messed with, but if it was opened on the side I opened it up on, then there is no way to tell now...

I'm sure that they will make sure you are happy. All of the stores represented on Adult DVD Talk have great customer service.

I'm sure you have seen Frank from Adult DVD Now posting here in the forum. (I used to work with Frank at a previous job.) He personally handles most of these issues for them. I'm sure he will correct the situation.

Well Frank did email me quickly, and he is sending a replacement. This is great! I never expected such a quick response, and to such an effort to make their customers happy. When I have emailed companies like Amazon in the past, it would take up to a week to get a real response.

He also was curious about the package like you Drew. I described the condition the best I could to him, hoping it helps.

As for the UPS problem. I live in the country and have a rural address. Their shipping department was not use to this, and so sent it USPS. In the future I will put into the comments box that my address is a UPS deliverable address, and Frank says that will fix the problem.

Thanks for the reassurance Drew, and thanks adultdvdnow for the quick fix to this problem.

Dear Customers

I am very concerned about our customers getting their orders, accurately, and fast! One of two things could of happened here;

1. USPS decided to help themselves to a free movie..... has happened before!

2. One of our shippers may have made a mistake.... (they are only human).

In any case, we guarantee your satisfaction. We will always resolve a situation with you. Just tell us, either by our 1-800 toll free number, or drop us an e-mail. We will take care of you!

I want to stress this to everyone.... if any customer of ours has a problem, or a concern, don't be afraid to e-mail me personally. I take great pride in our customer service, and I want to make sure it is the best in the industry. So please, everyone, give me feedback!

You can e-mail me personally and confidentially, at "jbarron@alphacomdvd.com"

In addition, Frank is our customer service manager. You can also e-mail him, at "frank@alphacomdvd.com"

I would like to leave on this note; All of the competitors on this site have been heavily scrutinized by Adult DVD Talk before being taken on as an advertiser. They just don't take anyone! In fact, they have even taken some competitors off their site! Thus, I would trust, any of the competitors on this web site are honest, trustworthy companies that would take care of the customer. So in short, don't be afraid to order from any competitor on this site. They are all top notch companies and they all care! I know this, because I am personally familiar with many of the owners.

I hope this post settles any rattled nerves some of you may be feeling when considering ordering from an online store, advertising with Adult DVD Talk.

Thank you.

Thanks for the words. Every company comes upon some problems in the course of their business. A true test of a company is how they handle these problems. When a company handles a problem like mine, so quickly and so completely, it eases the fears many have ordering online from them.

I know it must be frustrating when some small problem like this is posted on a public forum, and if I had to do it over again, I would not have posted it unless the problem was not handled well. I hope this does not invite everyone to post every little problem they have, unless those problems are not fixed. My main reason for posting it was my situation was strange to me because I did not expect to receive my package by USPS, and it confused and scared me. In the future I will only speak well of a company, until something goes wrong, AND they will not fix it. I doubt that will every happen though.

Thank you for your response above. Please don't be afraid to contact us should you have any concerns. I believe most reputable web sites on Adult DVD Talk have experienced lost packages, or mis-shipments before. It is nothing new to any of us. However, how we handle the matter is what's important.

Thank you.
