After a month with wantedlist which was horrible (throttling, no customer service, etc) I joined for free trial at sugardvd and bushdvd. I did this on the same night for both.

At bushdvd apparantly I forgot to include my apartment number (however I am sure I did as I always do with amazon, these otehr sites i have tried, etc). Anyway 7 days later no dvds. Log in notice my address was missing apt. #. Let them know. They tell me since I did that, I am responsible but they'll split the cost with me. So I called the post office and was told the items would be returned to sender with a stamp saying incomplete address.

I have not received them 2 weeks later. I am convinced they would have been returned as they would have arrived here in 3-4 days. So they should have been returned. The post office just doesn't lose mail like that, let alone four pieces, let alone mail that doesn't leave their post office.

After my terrible experience with wantedlist, I can't help but think these companies are not the most reputable businesses. Whats not to say that they don't just say they didn't receive it and make some money off me since I was on a free trial. The cost for 4 is about $80, they said split. So even 40 is a lot for me a college student.

I don't think they can claim my error caused the mail to just disappear. And that is why I am objecting to this. They gave me an extra week after canceling for them to turn up...so I have another 13 days.

Anyway, what are some thoughts on how I should proceed? I am a business student and taking business law. Plan to speak to my professor (a lawyer) and ask him what he thinks not naming the company lol.

Thanks very much for your help.

And stupid wantedlist for giving me a bad first impression to these companies. *angry*

BushDVD mails out 2 discs in one envelope - if you are on the free trial with 4 out that is actually just 2 pieces of mail lost.

If you are in an apartment complex, you might check with the leasing office to see if mail with no apartment number might wind up there. Otherwise I guess maybe one of your neighbors enjoyed these movies. No doubt they should have made their way back as undeliverable by now.

When you talk to him mention that you put the fact that you are at fault in writing in a public forum monitored by the company.

I never stated I was at fault. I don't think that the missing info would cause (if indeed they don't receive them back) to be lost. And the fact that the USPS said they would be returned makes me suspicious of the company. Others have claimed to be charged, if its late or what not. So I don't see why they wouldn't do it.

How about this, just today I get an email saying they received all 4 back. :)

Wonder if they read this :P

#1 - Bush has one of the best reputations around for good reason. If they were going to try screwing people over, they'd have a lot more posts about it from people who cancel their memberships. They also wouldn't be giving people an extra week to return the titles they have out after the period ends.

#2 - 13 Days before Dec. 1 would be Sat. Nov. 18. That only leaves about 10 shipping days (due to Thanksgiving and weekends and assuming that they shipped out the day you joined) to make it to you and back to them due to your fuckup, and most everything takes an extra day or two with the holidays. Even with my public school education I can look at a calender and figure out that it would take 8 - 12 days.

Why do I get the feeling that you're not in the top of your business law group???
