I've become such a jaded porn fan that I've begun picking flicks based partially on whether it features anal, facials, or, better yet, anal facials. I always choose a flick based on actresses. To check on these factors I always go to IAFD.com, pull up the actress, and make note of any films where she has indulged in the above. Here's the problem: the indications in the notes column are not always there or correct. I rented (thank god) a dvd called "Hidden Obsessions" (an Andrew Blake for couples only lets use a lot of slow motion crap thing) in order to see Heather Hart take a gob on the slob (can you guess that I'm not an Andrew Blake fan?). Guess what -- no facial! Also, a correct indication is not always in the Notes column. At first I thought this was because they didn't have a review. Nope, I've seen a couple of reviews that clearly cite one of the "filter on" items and it is still not listed. Now, don't get me wrong. I recognize that this website is a very useful, informative, and free tool that is essential to a porn fan. But Dammit! I lost $3.99 Here!! (o.k. so it's not that big a crisis) 1. Has anyone else noticed this or had the same problem? 2. If so, will it work to point out the error to them? 3. If #2 is yes. Isn't it the solemn duty of every ADT member to submit such corrections for the betterment of their fellow pornofiles (hey, we all have to do our part to make the world a better place).

To answer your third statement, NO, it is not the ‘solemn duty’ of ADT members to try and address or solve these problems or discrepancies. It is our solemn duty, if you want to call it that, to express our opinions , and in some cases very biased opinions on various topics.
We are operating in a spectrum, and the spectrum is far too wide and varied, to say that ‘this is right and that is wrong’.
I have purchased several DVD’s based upon reviews that I have read, only to find that it wasn’t my thing. It’s a learning process, to read a review – buy the movie – not like the movie or at least rate it in your own personal opinion at a different level – and then you can adjust a particular reviewers opinions for future purchases.
IAFD is an awesome resource, but you are still running into someones opinion on the production, quality, and heat index value. Just the statement that there was ‘anal’ in the scene with a particular performer doesn’t mean that the film, or the particular scene was worth a shit.
Maybe another way of saying this is to use these as tools (ADT and IAFD), use them, learn from them, and adapt them to your own personal preferences and interests.

OK, so you lost $3.99 - how much money have you saved because of the free services provided by iafd? Do you have any idea how much work goes into maintaining a comprehensive database like that?

It takes tons of time to properly maintain any database, let alone a comprehensive one like IAFD or ADT.

Steph-just wondering about how long it takes them to update, & also how much info they need. I reported 8/17 that Butt Sluts 2 (Rosebud) had improper links both to the review & to stores (links were to Metro's Butt Sluts 2). I clicked the link they provide on the page which brings up e-mail box & reported exactly what I said (but I didn't provide the URL since I didn't read the FAQ).
I checked today & I see it's the same, wrong review linked & they show it as being on dvd with links to stores (it's not out on dvd yet). There's at least 1 more wrong link (& probably more) to the vhs at the stores.
Maybe they got my message & are just backed up on updating & I should leave it alone. Or should I email again & put in the URL for the page? If so, do I need to check each & every link to see which are wrong?

Blondie-Re the anal facial, as Jack says, the scene breakdown tells us all this good stuff & more (who's in each scene & what they do-or don't do). Really a bonanza for the dedicated strokers!
Also, I gave you the credit for the "location" I use in a post (a couple months back?), you must have missed it. That's why I have it in quotes. Nobody pays any attention to me. I think I'm going to cry.

menace - the price search data (on our site and on iafd) is only as good as the data provided by stores. i have no idea how long it takes them to fix errors - depends how busy they are. same thing goes for me - i save up errors that people email to me and do 'em all in a batch. with so many studios using the same titles it becomes even harder to maintain the data.
Anal facials are pretty popular in scat movies so I've been told...

Okay, enough of that or others might get the wrong idea.
I have sent messages twice to IAFD regarding some incorrect links, and I got a response back within hours (same day service) thanking me for the ‘heads up’, and they corrected it.
Regarding our “location by-lines”, in another thread that you and I completely hijacked you properly gave credit to Blondie, and correctly said that it came from her Red Vibe Diaries 3 review.

Menace, I remember. I thought I had responded and begged you please NOT to credit it, as I talk a lot of shit in my reviews, but I guess not. At any rate, I'm right after ya! Whee!
Getting back to the original subject -- So you guys are saying that if a resource said something like: "Jenna Jameson does anal in this movie." And, based on the advice of that resource, you bought/rented the movie. AND it turned out that Jenna DOESN'T do anal in the flick. You wouldn't have "a problem" with that resource? Wow. You are much more tolerant than I. I guess I'll just point out any errors I find to IAFD.
BTW Denver Don, I didn't say anything about Opinions. I simply objected to being presented erroneous FACTS presented on IAFD and suggested that those who use this "awesome resource" correct these errors for the sake of other users.

Jack-I don't think wer'e that tolerant. Steph, Don, Buddy & I have mentioned the need to notify them of mistakes to make it more accurate. Though not always completely accurate, it's not a bad service to have, at zero cost.
The two guys who run IAFD.com put a lot of work into it, for a long time without even maiing a nickel off of it. And they are pretty responsive about changing and updating the database. E-mail them with specific urls and info. of what needs to be changed to make it easy for them and I'm sure they will get to it. It's a pretty damn comprehensive and amazing database for FREE! Especially since they keep adding features every year like scene breakdowns and direct links to the reviews, etc etc.

Point well taken, and I was responding mainly to the ‘solemn duty’ aspect, and you did not say anything about opinions.
As others have pointed out, we do take the time and make the effort to suggest corrections to obvious errors and mistakes. I have made comments and suggestions to both IAFD and ADT, and they have responded.
Hang in there guy, and maybe we can make this a better resource for all concerned.
One other thing to keep in mind when suggesting corrections for the IAFD, it's a part-time function for them. There's only one person handling the database maintenance responsibilites and he's got a family and a full time job keeping him busy most of the time. I think it's amazing that he's able to provide such a great web site in his spare time.
I know a lot of people make the assumption that sites like ADT and the IAFD are companies with a staff of people handling the various aspects of the site. While that may be true for some sites it's not the case for ADT or the IAFD. ADT only has two people handling the development and maintenance of the site. (Myself and Steph.) I'm not even full-time on ADT. We try to be responsive but once in a while emails sliup through the unnoticed.
And that is amazing to me! You two run a very smooth and slick web site, and your Customer Service is beyond reproach. It is far better than most commercial web sites I have contacted for customer care. Big time kudos!
